8 Tips: How To Keep Your Bong from Breaking

Tags: bong

There is no better way to enjoy your smoke session than with a glass Bong, which is why they are a crucial part of any smoker’s arsenal. Most regular smokers forget to put their bongs away after use, which can lead to various issues, including your bong gathering dust or even breaking. And who would want their glass piece shattered?

So, instead of leaving it to chance, you can check out these few tried and true techniques for keeping your bong safe and sound.

Tip 1: Keep Your Bong in a Cool and Dry Place

This one is simple – you should put away your bong when you don’t use it. And finding a cool, dry place to store your bong shouldn’t be challenging. Whether or not a kitchen cabinet, a nightstand, or a closet is the best spot to keep your bong will be determined by how much room you have available.

With it secured in a place like that, dust and moisture won’t be able to accumulate to unhealthy levels, and it’ll be way tricker for you or someone else to knock it over.

Tip 2: Consider Investing in Scientific Glass That Is Built to Last

When it comes to longevity, not all bongs are created equal. Unfortunately, most bongs on the market are of poor quality and won’t last as long as you’d expect them to. For this reason, it’s crucial to only shop on the online headshop you trust.

It’s not wise for smokers to buy their supplies from websites that advertise lower pricing but don’t provide evidence of appropriate quality. For this reason, those who take their smoking accessories seriously should invest in a scientific glass bong that’s meant to be durable.

Tip 3: Don’t Put Away Your Bong While It’s Full

Emptying the cannabis from the bong before putting it away is also a must. Leaving some hash in your bowl for your next session is understandable if you feel lethargic. But doing so can cause your cannabis to go rancid and your bong to become contaminated.

Burnt cannabis left in a bowl can produce a sticky, black film inside the container. As a result, it will be more trouble to clean, and your bong won’t do so well.

It takes only a split second to empty the bowl, so it’s easier to do it than avoid it.

Tip 4: Use a Clip Made of Plastic

You can protect a bong from the destructive effects of falling by gluing or otherwise fastening the individual parts together. All the different components can be kept in place by clips. You can use the clamps provided to keep ash catchers from falling out too.

Removing the bong’s bowl can cause the down stem or ash catcher to fall out of the bong, where they are more likely to break. In other words, don’t merely grip the bong at the top of the tube if you must smoke from a massive bong held high in the air.

Tip 5: Don’t Keep Your Bong in a Visible Location

Bong storage’s first and foremost rule is to keep it out of sight. We’ll admit that leaving your bong sitting upright on the coffee table, desk, or other surface is tempting. And if you don’t clean it, it might get much dirtier and make you sick when you use it again after it’s been out in the open.

Although most Bongs are manufactured out of solid glass, it is still possible for them to break. Instead, store your bong in a location that is both safe and out of the way, such as a closet or a cabinet.

Tip 6: Carry It with Extreme Caution

There may be times when you want to take your bong with you on the road. However, because of the increased risk of damage, you must devise a storage plan. And having a case to put it in might make all the difference.

Cushion your bong before packing it into your backpack, duffel bag, or gym bag for a road trip is essential. A change of clothes, a towel, or some bubble wrap might prevent severe damage if it’s a protected right. One possible solution is a glasses case, especially for smaller glassware like bowls and bubblers.

Tip 7: Drain the Water After Each Use

If you smoke regularly, be sure to empty the water after each use. Not only does emptying your perc bong’s water help avoid the spread of germs, but it can also keep your pipe from breaking if it gets too full.

While it doesn’t happen often, the water temperature could drop. In turn, this causes the water to swell, and the expansion could break the glass if it’s too rapid. If you plan on storing your bong in a cool place like a basement or closet, you should always drain the water before lighting it up.

Tip 8: Clean Carefully

Make sure to take care of the glass you acquire, regardless of its type. Never risk scratching or otherwise damaging your glass by poking at it with sharp objects to remove the resin.

Instead of using a grinder or other equipment to scrape the ash, you could attach a reclamation catcher to the end of your nail and let the excess concentrate drip out for a second session.

When you clean your piece regularly, you won’t have to shake it as much, reducing the risk that it will slip out of your hands or get knocked into the sink.

Wrapping Things Up

It doesn’t take much effort to master the art of not breaking your bong. However, if you value the longevity of your bong, then common sense should be your guide.

In order to keep your bong in good condition, avoid putting it in potentially hazardous circumstances. The most secure place to use a bong is on a stable table with a silicone mat underneath to prevent it from moving around while you’re puffing away.
