Cashed in from BPI to a wrong GCash number? Here is the solution!

For context, I mistakenly loaded 500 to a different Gcash number from my BPI mobile account.

How did I fix that?

First of all, you need to have the GCash Loading Confirmation Email sent by BPI. You will be needing all of the information to complete this process.

1. Open your GCash app. Go to your profile page by tapping on the Profile tab.

2. On your profile page, tap on "Help."

3. Tap on the "Submit a Ticket" card.

5. Fill in all required information.

On the concern category select "Cash In" and then "I cashed in to a wrong number."
Input fields will be updated depending on your concern category.

6. Complete all required information:
  • Explain your concern. Include all the details related to the transaction to help speed up our investigation.
  • Registered Email Address
  • Sender's Number
  • Wrong Recipient's Number
  • Correct Recipient's Number
  • Date of Transaction

  • Did you receive the GCash Reference No.?: Select "Yes."

  • GCash Reference No.: Input the one on the email with the "Confirmation Number" label.
  • Amount
  • Attachments: Screenshot your GCash Loading Confirmation email. Upload it as an attachment.
7. Tap on "Submit." A success message will be displayed. You'll be sent back to the Help Center screen.

On it, a "Your Tickets" card will be available. This will show the status of your concern.
When the issue is fixed the status will be "Solved."

How long do you need to wait?

It depends on what time you sent your concern. In my case, a Globe representative responded after five hours. The issue was resolved after nine hours. I responded quickly to confirm that the readjustment on my GCash load has been completed.

The issue was resolved quickly because the number I inputted was not active. If it were, it would take long. You will not receive your load back if the wrong receiver spent it already.

What I learned from all of this?

It's safer and hassle-free to link your BPI account to GCash.
Also, check your email regularly. You'll be notified with the status through your email and GCash app.
