After a quasi two-month absence, YouTuber Tati Westbrook has returned to Social Media and fans are speculating why.
On Monday, June 22, Tati took to Twitter to share her first post in over a month, which, naturally, left her followers a bit confused. The post is a lyric music video to the song “Dear Happy” by English singer-songwriter Gabrielle Aplin. Among the lyrics of the song that Tati shared are, “I started thinking I should open my mouth and let the words out,” and “I know they’ll happen if I only allow them, they’ll come as a crowd.”
And, well, as noted by Cosmopolitan UK, the eerie feel of the video has left Tati stans thinking there’s a cryptic message to the post — so cue the conspiracy theories!
“This is your only chance to fix what u’ve done,” one user tweeted after seeing Tati’s return. The commenter was referring to an instance from earlier this week when Shane Dawson took to Twitter to say he’s done with the beauty world, citing the infamous Dramageddon 2.0 between Tati, Jeffree Star, and James Charles as the main reason.
Some fans thought otherwise though and made that clear in the comments. “There is nothing to fix. She is an adult professional, and she spoke her mind. End of story. The only ones making drama & still making it an issue are the middle school crowd,” someone wrote. “The adults aren’t bothered by that silliness. They’re living their lives.”
Earlier this week, some within the beauty community began to spread rumors that Tati was making a new tea-filled video about James, igniting a new fire among beauty enthusiasts. “Don’t tell nobody… But I’ve heard that Tati will make a video defending James… This is her chance to redeem herself,” tweeted makeup artist Liam McEvoy. “Allegedly she has receipts . But it’s all based on a rumor… A rumor from a VERY CREDIBLE AND POWERFUL person tho…”
YouTuber Sebastian Williams also added to the fire, tweeting, “we were ALL manipulated. The truth WILL come out. No matter how hard you try to hide it.”
Who knows whether or not the beauty community can withstand another “My Truth” video, but we’ll just have to wait and see what’s to come!
