NYT’s Carl Bernstein: I’m “disappointed” in Trump, but not as disappointed as I was in Clinton

The New York Times has published an Article criticizing Donald Trump, calling his campaign a “toxic, toxic” place, but it’s not quite as bad as I expected.

The article, written by Carl Bernstein, comes as the Democratic nominee and her team have been embroiled in a firestorm of controversy over allegations of sexism and racism.

It accuses the GOP candidate of having a “vast” and “vile” campaign.

In his piece, Bernstein says he “is disappointed” in the article, calling it “a political attack on Trump’s campaign and a disservice to the tens of millions of Americans who will never get to see a full and candid portrait of this toxic, toxic campaign.”

The Times has not yet responded to a request for comment.

But in a statement, Bernstein said he is “disappointed” in part because of his criticism of Trump.

He added that the article does not adequately explain the many issues Trump has with the press.

“There are two things I hope the Times can learn from this article,” Bernstein wrote.

“First, this article is not a comprehensive, fair account of the campaign.

Second, this story should not be read as an attack on Donald Trump.

The fact that the Times failed to provide a full, honest, and comprehensive account of this campaign is a serious failure.”

In the piece, the Times’ senior reporter, Maggie Haberman, says she believes Trump’s actions were inappropriate and that he did not intend to mislead the American people.

Bernstein wrote that he believes Trump is a “man of his word,” but that “his campaign was a toxic, poisonous place.”

“Trump’s toxic, dangerous campaign was, in some ways, a mirror image of his own toxic, unhealthy campaign,” Bernstein writes.

“The Trump campaign was an arena of hate and fear and violence and abuse and harassment and misogyny and racism and homophobia and sexism and xenophobia and misogyny, all of it directed at people of color and women and young people of all genders and political persuasions.”

Bernstein’s article says the campaign’s strategy of using surrogates and a well-funded and well-trained super PAC to push the narrative of the Trump campaign has failed.”

The Times did not immediately respond to a question from Recode asking if it considered Bernstein’s piece to be accurate.

Bernstein’s article says the campaign’s strategy of using surrogates and a well-funded and well-trained super PAC to push the narrative of the Trump campaign has failed.

The Times also said it was not surprised by the controversy surrounding the election and called the election “the most consequential in American history.”
