Episode 3

Na Moon-young (played by Lee Bo-young) faced the overwhelming situations after her husband Cha Seong-jae’s (played by Lee Moo-saeng) death and finally teared up. Despite this, Moon-young, with her sharp instincts and tenacity honed over her long career as a prosecutor, discerned that Seong-jae’s suicide was a lie and finally confronted him alive.

In the 3rd episode, Moon-young, who witnessed Do Jin-woo (played by Lee Min-jae) being shot by a mysterious man, was confused after hearing from the injured Jin-woo that the man who shot him was Seong-jae. Based on the address given by Jin-woo, she discovered that her husband had helped the homeless through the Cha Woong Welfare Foundation and illegally managed their accounts, which led her to suspect the truth about her husband’s death.

Moon-young, whose home was illegally invaded by Ma Kang (played by Hong Seo-jun), the director of Geumshin Industrial, was threatened by him to return the remaining 6.5 billion won within a week out of the 7 billion won her husband had taken.

Overwhelmed by anger, especially when her daughter’s safety was threatened, Moon-young confirmed that the 7 billion won had been transferred to the homeless accounts her husband managed under the guise of contracts. She confronted Ma Kang, accusing him of a “typical money laundering signal,” providing us with a sense of satisfaction.

Convinced that her husband was still alive, Moon-young immediately confirmed this through a DNA retest. It turned out that her mother-in-law, who had been opposed to the autopsy, had secretly colluded with her living husband to switch the DNA, deceiving everyone.

Having learned the truth, Moon-young finally met the living Seong-jae at the home of the deceased Hwang Tae-soo at the end of episode 3. Her voice and eyes, as she muttered, “You were alive?” were entangled with complex emotions of relief, despair, anger, and betrayal.

Episode 4

Lee Chung-ah revealed a chilling dual nature.

The episode unfolded with Moon-young intricately trapping Ma Kang with a tight design and arresting him for murder. However, the joy was short-lived as Moon-young received news of Ma Kang’s death in prison and faced the unbelievable truth that the kind neighbor Ha Yeon-ju (played by Lee Chung-ah) was behind the incident.

Moon-young was shocked at the return of her husband, Seong-jae. Seong-jae confessed that he had been unavoidably involved in illegal activities due to his entanglement with Ma Kang. He revealed that he had embezzled 7 billion won from Ma Kang and had to fake his death and disappear. Additionally, Seong-jae warned Moon-young not to believe anything Jin-woo said, as he was blackmailing him.

The USB handed over by Seong-jae, which he called “a weapon to protect you and Bomi from Ma Kang,” contained black box footage revealing the truth about a previous fatal accident in a coastal village. Ma Kang, who had switched the suspect with Kim Yoon-sun (played by Kim Yoon-seo) after causing the accident, was immediately arrested with clear evidence of murder.

Moon-young’s meticulousness in revealing Ma Kang’s murder during a civil lawsuit for stalking and theft of a shoebox in court provided an intense catharsis.

It seemed like peace had returned to everyone, and Moon-young sent a message to Seong-jae, saying, “It’s time for you to come back to your place.” However, this wasn't the end but merely the beginning.

Moon-young, who happily attended a neighborhood tea party, received a mysterious box filled with bundles of money from Yeon-ju. At the same time, she received a call from Prosecutor Ju Shin-hwa (played by Kim Gook-hee) saying, “Ma Kang is dead. His body was found in the prison.”

Amidst this, Yeon-ju heightened the tension by handing over a photo of Seong-jae and saying, “Did you meet your husband well? Bomi’s father’s face is quite damaged, isn’t it?” She then chillingly added, “Or should I say, ‘Mr. Hwang Tae-soo’?” hinting that Seong-jae had switched corpses and was living under the identity of the deceased.

This moment hinted that Yeon-ju could be the "higher-up" that Ma Kang feared. The shattered peace raises curiosity about what choice Moon-young will make next.
