#LushKingsWeek has come to an end! (cry)

It’s been so enjoyable for us. We haven’t felt very creative with our baths the past few months. We thought we would use this week to create some kind of ‘buzz’, we guess you could call it that? around our Giveaway. But mostly, we wanted to use it to bring some creativity back into our account!

But it’s also been a lot of hard work. Each video takes about 1-2 hours to edit, plus the half an hour to film. They are little bit quirky and over the top but we actually love making them! We want to keep doing stuff, that other people in the community aren’t doing, to keep us being in that creative mindset. We really think that all of the hard work was worth it, all of our follower’s have been so lovely about all of our bath posts each day!

We ran a Giveaway across the week, where one person will be winning £20+postage to spend on the Lush website. We were racking our brains for a while as to what to do a giveaway on, we thought this was relatively simple, but also, only costing us £10 each, it doesn’t break the bank, but also it’s quite an exciting prize! We’ll be posting the winner tomorrow, the giveaway ends at Sunday 12pm midday UK time. And posting a video on our Instagram page, as to who the winner is. We’re also really exciting to a) see who wins, but also b) see what they buy!!

We also took this week to get into the world of Youtube and Blogging. Something we’ve done in the past, but not together. We’ve started our Youtube channel up, but haven’t posted anything original on it just yet. We’re going to be recording some more unboxing’s this weekend, as well as some challenges and tags. We’re also going to be posting some slightly longer videos of our baths on there, but we’ll still be using Instagram predominantly for posting our baths on!

We posted two new videos on our Instagram this week. A Behind the Scenes of a Bath set up video & an unboxing video of our latest Cushty Co wax melts order. This was super fun to do, to get in front of the camera instead of behind the camera. We’ve had a lot of positive feedback and will be working on posting a larger range of content on our LushKings page!

A lot of our friends have been telling us to go into the world of ‘vlogging ‘and Blogging and we thought it would be quite a nice hobby to do together! We haven’t got the best camera at the moment (the irony is that Jay sold his camera and tripod a few months ago), but we still have our light box. So for now, it will have to do! So expect some more fun stuff over on our Youtube soon!

Over to blogging, we both love writing. But it’s not something we do too often. Sitting down and spending the good half of an evening typing up and going through either a past trip or a bath and just writing about it.. is really relaxing. We both work really well together and are always bouncing ideas off of one another.

But what else happened this week?

• Jay starts his new graduate job next week, at a local start-up business, running the social media and helping out with the marketing. This is a super exciting opportunity and we cannot wait for it
• On Friday we went out for drinks to celebrate this, but also to celebrate the end of #LushKingsWeek
• We made Chinese and Indian at home for the first time. We were really impressed with our attempts! They tasted just as good, if not better, than the takeaway version
• We’ve started getting into Indie bath brands, we’ve had a few deliveries that we’re going to be unboxing soon

What do we do next?

We’ve already started thinking of how we could do we week like this, perhaps again. But with a completely different spin. We already have a big idea, which would take a lot of hard work, but we just need to find a good cause to do it for!

It’s given us the creativity back, as for the past few months on our account we haven’t been as creative and only taking a bath a month, instead of a week. We now cannot wait to keep posting not only our love of Lush, but also some indie companies, of which we’ve had a few orders delivered!
