(Disclaimer: this is a very long post but is worth the read)
For those of you who may or may not know, I’am a Pentecostal (a type of Christian) therefore I strongly belive in God. Now I wanted to share the notes I’ve taken at the conference I’ve been to which were for the youth and the youth camp I went to. So please enjoy it
God created us to function like him
God’s plan for man is for man to enjoy this world. He has a plan for man. Anything man needed was there in the garden
Adam was God on earth
Satan then took man’s authority since man allowed themselves to be deceived they handed over their authority to satan
Jesus came to return us back to our original state of dominion
Jesus represented us in hell so we no longer go to hell
Romans 10:9 “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and if you believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from death, then you will be saved.”
How to know you are bold:
•When God is able to speak through you
•When you can declare the word of God to your friends
•Telling people you don’t know about God
•When you are in a department in church
If you have the spirit of God he will guide you to do things in church
Quiet people don’t change the world
Those who are born again are your family whether biologically or not
Changing the world starts from school
As children of God we are born to be influencers of God
Truth is different from your feelings, opinions and imagination. Truth is reality.
When you were born again you were born with the life and nature of God.
Whatever that was done to you (whether it was abuse, etc) means nothing. You may not be able to change yesterday but you can change tomorrow by what you do today
Angels can come in form of human beings so you may not know them as angels
It’s not about the pressure from the outside, it is the one from the inside. Refuse to be weak as you are not weak
Your life will go in the direction of your mind.
The two relationships for a christian is between you and the Holy Spirit and you and Christ
When you say Jesus Christ is the lord of my life he becomes the lord of your spirit, soul and mind
John 14:1-2 “Jesus said, “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God. And trust in me. There are many rooms in my Father’s house. I would not tell you this if it were not true. I am going there to prepare a place for you.”
In heaven there are different dwellings but he wants to give us the highest one
John 14:3-7 “After I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back. Then I will take you to be with me so that you may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going. “Thomas said to Jesus, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going. So how can we know the way?” Jesus answered, “I am the way. And I am the truth and the life. The only way to the Father is through me. If you really knew me, then you would know my Father, too. But now you do know him, and you have seen him.”
Hebrews 1:1-3 “In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets. He spoke to them many times and in many different ways. And now in these last days God has spoken to us through his Son. God has chosen his Son to own all things. And he made the world through the Son. The Son reflects the glory of God. He is an exact copy of God’s nature. He holds everything together with his powerful word. The Son made people clean from their sins. Then he sat down at the right side of God, the Great One in heaven.”
Jesus is the expressed image of the father’s presence. If you have seen him you have seen the father
John 14:10 “Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I say to you don’t come from me. The Father lives in me, and he is doing his own work.”
The father that dwells in Jesus is the Holy Ghost as he is the doer of things
A Christian is an offspring of the word meaning they are born of the word and anything outside that is a contradiction of the word. If you walk in the word you walk in perfection and in truth
John 14:11-14 “Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me. Or believe because of the miracles I have done. I tell you the truth. He who believes in me will do the same things that I do. He will do even greater things than these because I am going to the Father. And if you ask for anything in my name, I will do it for you. Then the Father’s glory will be shown through the Son. If you ask me for anything in my name, I will do it.”
John 14:15 ““If you love me, you will do the things I command.”
His commandments are to preach the gospel and to love one another
John 14:16 “I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper. He will give you this Helper to be with you forever.”
John 14:18 “I will not leave you all alone like orphans. I will come back to you.”
John 14:19 “In a little while the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you will live, too.”
Refuse to fear no matter what happens in life
John 14:20 “On that day you will know that I am in my Father. You will know that you are in me and I am in you.”
Jesus came to make us one with God
If you are always choosing your own way then he is not the lord of your life
A double minded man is unstable in all his ways
Matthew 10:18 “Because of me you will be taken to stand before governors and kings. You will tell them and the non-Jewish people about me.”
Even in the worst situation, dont think about what you’re going to say
Matthew 10:20 “It will not really be you speaking. The Spirit of your Father will be speaking through you.”
Always walk and be filled with the spirit. If you only do it sometimes then you only hear the voice of God sometimes.
Because the holy spirit is your teacher he will unveil things to you
Don’t try to do what the holy spirit will do. Don’t try to be what he made you and don’t try to have what the holy spirit gave you
John 1:9 “The true Light was coming into the world. The true Light gives light to all.”
The moment we get born again there is a place where we must be found
The bible is a mirror. The bible shows us our image, who we are. The bible has been given for us to adjust our life.
There is a way God wants us to look. He wants us to be successful so we should look in the mirror and he will show us the path to success (the mirror is the bible)
2 corinthians 3:18 “Our faces, then, are not covered. We all show the Lord’s glory, and we are being changed to be like him. This change in us brings more and more glory. And it comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”
God says the ourselves that we see is the Lord’s glory
The only person that can make you a success in life is God
Anybody who is not with God but the world says they are successful are not successful
Matthew 4:18-19 “Jesus was walking by Lake Galilee. He saw two brothers, Simon (called Peter) and Simon’s brother Andrew. The brothers were fishermen, and they were fishing in the lake with a net. Jesus said, “Come follow me. I will make you fishermen for men.”
Boldness is the character of the human spirit. It is the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit in a man
If you want to be successful in life the main ingredient you need is boldness
If you are not bold you cannot change the world but rather the world will change you
God is not going to push boldness into you
The church is your life, anything outside is an obstruction
Anyone that does not have christ is spiritually dead
Life is found in the son of God
There is no man that is born again that is spiritually dead but the person can be carnal
Anyone that is spiritually dead will go to hell
Leadership is of God. That is why the bible encourages us to respect our leader. Leadership has nothing to do with age
- be conscious that you are a leader
- Understand the purpose of your leadership
Man was born with bad attitude and they were born with sin.
Romans 12:1-2 “So brothers, since God has shown us great mercy, I beg you to offer your lives as a living sacrifice to him. Your offering must be only for God and pleasing to him. This is the spiritual way for you to worship. Do not be shaped by this world. Instead be changed within by a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to decide what God wants for you. And you will be able to know what is good and pleasing to God and what is perfect.”
God didn’t tell us not to be angry but don’t sin
Romans 1:17-32 “The Good News shows how God makes people right with himself. God’s way of making people right with him begins and ends with faith. As the Scripture says, “The person who is made right with God by faith will live forever.” God’s anger is shown from heaven against all the evil and wrong things that people do. By their own evil lives they hide the truth “God shows his anger because everything that may be known about God has been made clear. Yes, God has clearly shown them everything that may be known about him. There are things about God that people cannot see—his eternal power and all the things that make him God. But since the beginning of the world those things have been easy to understand. They are made clear by what God has made. So people have no excuse for the bad things they do. They knew God. But they did not give glory to God, and they did not thank him. Their thinking became useless. Their foolish minds were filled with darkness. They said they were wise, but they became fools. They gave up the glory of God who lives forever. They traded that glory for the worship of idols made to look like earthly people. They traded God’s glory for things that look like birds, animals, and snakes. People were full of sin, wanting only to do evil. So God left them to follow their evil desires, and they made one another’s bodies impure by what they did. They traded the truth of God for a lie and worshiped and served things that were made by man. But they did not worship and serve the God who made those things. God should be praised forever. Amen. Because people did those things, God left them and let them do the shameful things they wanted to do. Women stopped having natural physical relations with men for what is unnatural. In the same way, men stopped having natural physical relations with women and began wanting each other. Men did shameful things with other men. And in their bodies they received the punishment for those wrongs. People did not think it was important to have a true knowledge of God. So God left them and allowed them to have their own worthless thinking. And so those people do the things that they should not do. They are filled with every kind of sin, evil, selfishness, and hatred. They are full of jealousy, murder, fighting, lying, and thinking the worst about each other. They gossip and say evil things about each other. They hate God. They are rude and conceited and brag about themselves. They invent ways of doing evil. They do not obey their parents. They are foolish, they do not keep their promises, and they show no kindness or mercy to other people. They know God’s law says that those who live like this should die. But they continue to do these evil things. And they also feel that those who do these things are doing right.”
Proverbs 4:1-6 “My children, listen to your father’s teaching. Pay attention so you will understand. What I am telling you is good. Do not forget what I teach you. I was once a young boy in my father’s house. I was like an only child to my mother. And my father taught me and said, “Hold on to my words with all your heart. Keep my commands and you will live. Get wisdom and understanding. Don’t forget or ignore my words. Use wisdom, and it will take care of you. Love wisdom, and it will keep you safe.”
If you are not a success today, you will never be a success
The world belongs to you.
Acts 1:8 “But the Holy Spirit will come to you. Then you will receive power. You will be my witnesses—in Jerusalem, in all of Judea, in Samaria, and in every part of the world.”
Your very best friend is the Holy Spirit
Acts 10:38 “You know about Jesus from Nazareth. God made him the Christ by giving him the Holy Spirit and power. You know how Jesus went everywhere doing good. He healed those who were ruled by the devil, for God was with Jesus.”
To be a good Christian you need to understand Christianity
1 John 4:4 “My dear children, you belong to God. So you have defeated them because God’s Spirit, who is in you, is greater than the devil, who is in the world.”
John 14:16-24 “I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper. He will give you this Helper to be with you forever. The Helper is the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him because it does not see him or know him. But you know him. He lives with you and he will be in you. “I will not leave you all alone like orphans. I will come back to you. In a little while the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you will live, too. On that day you will know that I am in my Father. You will know that you are in me and I am in you. He who knows my commands and obeys them is the one who loves me. And my Father will love him who loves me. I will love him and will show myself to him.” Then Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, “But, Lord, why do you plan to show yourself to us, but not to the world?” Jesus answered, “If anyone loves me, then he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. He who does not love me does not obey my teaching. This teaching that you hear is not really mine. It is from my Father, who sent me.”
- Everything God says about himself if true
- Believe what he says about you
Impartation means to give, to impart something
Romans 1:11 “I want very much to see you, to give you some spiritual gift to make you strong.”
The church is not the building, church are the people
Ephesians 1:15-18 “That is why I always remember you in my prayers and always thank God for you. I have always done this since the time I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s people. I always pray to the God of our Lord Jesus Christ—to the glorious Father. I pray that he will give you a spirit that will make you wise in the knowledge of God—the knowledge that he has shown you. I pray that you will have greater understanding in your heart. Then you will know the hope that God has chosen to give us. I pray that you will know that the blessings God has promised his holy people are rich and glorious.”
Ephesians 4:10-14 “So Jesus came down, and he is the same One who went up. He went up above all the heavens. Christ did that to fill everything with himself. And Christ gave gifts to men—he made some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to go and tell the Good News, and some to have the work of caring for and teaching God’s people. Christ gave those gifts to prepare God’s holy people for the work of serving. He gave those gifts to make the body of Christ stronger. This work must continue until we are all joined together in the same faith and in the same knowledge about the Son of God. We must become like a mature person—we must grow until we become like Christ and have all his perfection. Then we will no longer be babies. We will not be tossed about like a ship that the waves carry one way and then another. We will not be influenced by every new teaching we hear from men who are trying to fool us. Those men make plans and try any kind of trick to fool people into following the wrong path.”
Jesus came to show us how to live above failure and sickness. After he showed us he left us with the Holy Spirit
There are 3 spiritual gifts that God gave us
- the gift of eternal life: 2 timothy 1:7-11 “God did not give us a spirit that makes us afraid. He gave us a spirit of power and love and self-control. So do not be ashamed to tell people about our Lord Jesus. And do not be ashamed of me. I am in prison for the Lord. But suffer with me for the Good News. God gives us the strength to do that. God saved us and made us his holy people. That was not because of anything we did ourselves but because of what he wanted and because of his grace. That grace was given to us through Christ Jesus before time began. It was not shown to us until our Savior Christ Jesus came. Jesus destroyed death. And through the Good News, he showed us the way to have life that cannot be destroyed “I was chosen to tell that Good News and to be an apostle and a teacher. Titus 1:1-2 “From Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ. I was sent to help the faith of God’s chosen people. I was sent to help them to know the truth. And that truth shows people how to serve God. That faith and that knowledge come from our hope for life forever. God promised that life to us before time began, and God does not. 1 John 1:1-2 “We write you now about something that has always existed. We have heard. We have seen with our own eyes. We have watched, and we have touched with our hands. We write to you about the Word that gives life. He who gives life was shown to us. We saw him, and we can give proof about it. And now we tell you that he has life that continues forever. The one who gives this life was with God the Father. God showed him to us.”
- The gift of righteousness- coming into the presence of god without feel of guilt or condemnation
- The gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38 “Peter said to them, “Change your hearts and lives and be baptized, each one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
Acts 1:8 “But the Holy Spirit will come to you. Then you will receive power. You will be my witnesses—in Jerusalem, in all of Judea, in Samaria, and in every part of the world.”
John 15:2-5 “He cuts off every branch of mine that does not produce fruit. And he trims and cleans every branch that produces fruit so that it will produce even more fruit. You are already clean because of the words I have spoken to you. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can produce fruit alone. It must remain in the vine. It is the same with you. You cannot produce fruit alone. You must remain in me. “I am the vine, and you are the branches. If a person remains in me and I remain in him, then he produces much fruit. But without me he can do nothing.”
