My Four Months Traffic Report Summary

“One is better than Zero”.

This one quote motivated me to start my blogging journey.

I wanted to start blogging for a very long time but I was always afraid of failing.

I always used to self-doubt myself by asking these kinds of questions to myself.

  1. What if my blog doesn’t work out? All my effort and money will be wasted.
  2. I don’t even have enough knowledge to start blogging.
  3. Why somebody will come to my blog when there are already so many blogs out there?
  4. I don’t think that my English is very good, so people might even make fun of my English. Therefore, first of all, I should improve my English and then I should start blogging.

I think some of you might be relating to my problem.

These are the questions which lot of you would have went through.

So what I did then?

I held a book and a pen in my hand. Then I went to my table and started writing answers to all these questions.

Yes, literally I did it.

Because I believe that it is okay to have questions, but those questions should never stop you from doing what you want to do.

So Instead of running away or shying away from questions or doubts, you should find answers to your questions or doubts.

Once you do it. You will see that those questions were just looking big but were actually nothing.

It is okay to not have answers to all your questions but you will find out that you have found answers to most of your self-doubting questions.

And then you will never fear to start.

Deciding Domain Name and Hosting.

So finally I decided to start blogging.

And I quickly started to look for a domain name. Because I was very clear that I wanted to start a blog on Digital Marketing and blogging.

Therefore, I was looking for a domain name which should relate to blogging or digital marketing.

So I asked some of my friends to suggest me some good names. And one of my friend Binod Jha from “EasyKhoj.com” who was already blogging for more than 2 years suggested me “BloggingScoops” domain name.

I liked the name pretty much so I decided to go with it. And then I went to “BigRock.in” and got the domain name.

Then I started looking for cheap and reliable hosting. Because I was very tight on my budget. After asking a different number of people, I came to know about RoyalClouds.net.

I checked out their shared hosting plans and I actually liked it. And finally, I decided to go with them.

And I will strongly recommend “RoyalClouds.net” hosting to anyone who is just starting out. Because they have some good shared hosting plans and their uptime and customer support is also very good.

You can also check out “HostKarle.in” they also have some good hosting plans.

Then I took one of my friends help to set up my blog. His name is Sunny Kumar, he is also a blogger. He runs a blog named “TheGuideX.com”.

He helped me in setting up my blog and actually he did it for free.

Once everything was ready, it was time for me to start publishing articles on my newly created website.

Four Months Traffic Report (30 Dec 2017 – 30 April 2018)

On 30 December 2017, I published the very first article on my blog. I was nervous and excited at the same time.

Once I completed publishing the article on my site. I decided to share the article on Facebook. And by that time I actually joined few digital marketing groups.

To name a few, digital marketing and blogging groups such as “HellBound Bloggers” and “Bloggers Promotion”.

So I even shared my article in these groups also.

And quickly started looking into my analytics account to see if someone comes to my blog or not. And after 5 minutes of sharing my article on Facebook, I saw people coming on to my site in Analytics.

This made me really go nuts. I was very happy.

On Dec 30, 2017, I had total 64 Users and 157 Pageviews.

And this was enough to keep me going.

But soon I realized that Social Traffic is not consistent and I started to focus on search traffic.

Because search traffic is consistent. And it is the best source of traffic that you should have.

So this was my short “Blogging Journey StartUp Story”.

Now let me quickly start all of my four months traffic stats with you guys.

First Month Traffic Report (30 Dec 2017 – 31 Jan 2018)

As you can see, I was able to get nearly 4000 page views in the very first month of my blogging career.

In this month, I was trying all kind of stuff. So that I can figure what works for me and what does not works for me.

As you can see the Bounce Rate is pretty low. And that is very important when you start.

The bounce rate signals whether people are happy with the content or not. If the bounce rate is low then people are satisfied with your posted content.

Anything below 80% is actually considered good bounce rate.

As it was the first month, I was not able to get a lot of search traffic. Because not all of my posts were ranking in the first month.

So I actually focused on social traffic and direct traffic. I also did some guest blogging to get some referral traffic.

Second Month Traffic Report (1 Feb 2018 – 28 Feb 2018)

In the second month also I got the pretty same results. I did not focus on publishing lots of articles but I focused on publishing some quality articles.

And most of the articles were pretty well SEO optimized.

The bounce rate was also very low. And this helped me to climb the SERP very fast.

Because I was pulling guest blogging pretty well. I was also getting a very good amount of referral traffic.

And by this month also I was not getting that much search traffic.

In the first two months, I was actually building my base so that I can actually rank in Google SERPs in the coming months.

And by “building the base” I mean was working on linkbuilding and publishing some quality posts.

You can checkout profile creation sites list and social bookmarking sites lists to create high-quality backlinks to your site.

Third Month Traffic Report (1 March 2018 – 31 March 2018)

Yes, in this month I actually made 3x times more pageviews than my previous two months.

Because by this time my articles started showing up in the Google SERPs. And having the low bounce rate was helping a lot in that.

And I will strongly recommend you all to focus on having low bounce rate and more Avg. Session Duration time.

Now, you may ask how to do it?

The answer is…

Make engaging content. It is as simple as that.

As you can see, I was able to dominate the search traffic on my blog.

I was able to scale my search traffic from nearly 40% to more than 80%.

And this is what I was looking for from the very first month.

Because the search traffic is consistent and is actually more targeted than any other traffic source.

Fourth Month Traffic Report (1 April 2018 – 30 April 2018)

This has been the best month since I started. I was able to get more than 13000 page views and more than 6000 users.

As you can see, the bounce rate and the Avg. Session Duration is also very good.

By this month I was only having 15 posts.

Yes, you heard it right only 15 posts.

So the takeaway lesson is…

Don’t focus on the number of posts. But focus on the quality of the posts and it’s rankings too.

In this month also, the search traffic dominated my blog traffic. And this makes me happy.

Because when you see the results coming then you work with more enthusiasm and energy.

Final Words:

I know for most of you 13500 pageviews would be a day’s story.

But getting to this is a big achievement for me. Because I know that how much effort I have put to get to this.

My goal for publishing this post was to share my short four months journey with all of you.

It took me four months time to get to 13500 pageviews/month. So the most important thing to have is “Patience”.

Because good things take time to happen.

Comment your thoughts on this. I would really love to know what you guys have to say.
