Coming from the island of Marajó, champion Deiveson Figueiredo (20-1 in MMA, 9-1 in UFC) is increasingly becoming popular, including internationally. The Brazilian became holder of the title after two beatings against Joseph Benavidez, two because at the first opportunity Deiveson lost the Fight against the scales, which was more important. Once a champion, his first defense came less than a month ago, against Alex Perez, who was defeated in just under two minutes. With a victory over Moreno, much is said about a possible climb to the roosters, or Figueiredo to face Cody Garbrandt, former champion of the roosters.

It is not for nothing that the subject puts himself as "God of War", even adopting a hairstyle in honor of Kratos. Deiveson is a far above average fighter. Very violent, the Brazilian constantly attacks and has very heavy hands for the category, he doesn't accumulate knockdowns in several fights, knocking out four opponents. More and more Daico is also showing his quality in jiu-jitsu, with opportunistic bottlenecks and taking advantage of athletics to physically overcome his opponents. Very versatile, Deiveson currently shows few loopholes, but his defense of takedowns in the past has already been leaked (often against Jarred Brooks) and, even though he has evolved a lot in this respect, a competent wrestler can offer some risk.

Only a fighter comes out of Mexico, Brandon Moreno (18-5-1 in MMA, 6-2-1 in the UFC) is another one of them. Little known, he was champion of a regional event in his native country and was called up for TUF 24. At home he was unlucky, losing to the great Alexandre Pantoja. Even so, Moreno took a chance and surprised the hitherto hushed Louis Smolka, submitting him. From then on he maintained a very good level, until he accumulated two defeats in a row and was cut in the middle of the crisis in the post-exchange category Askren-Johnson. He was hired by the LFA, won the title right away and, after scoring an event in Mexico, the UFC decided to sign again with Brandon. Now, “The Assassin Baby” comes from victories over Kai Kara France, Jussier Formiga and Brandon Royval.

A very tough athlete, Moreno is insane on his feet, having quick fists, accepting the exchange of blows calmly and always carrying out extremely lively fights, with great resilience. But he is known to everyone where Moreno works best: the Mexican is a high-level grappler. Brandon is a brown belt in jiu-jitsu, very competent in scrambles, moving a lot on the ground, whether standing on top or guarding. Very dynamic, Moreno usually adapts very well to combat, with ease for game transitions. The defense against a knockout against Deiveson can be a matter of concern, since Brandon is often hit hard in his fights.

An exceptional fight, which was marked on the last PPV card, where both had impressive performances. Moreno is very good, but I see that the fight is more to consolidate the reign of Deiveson, with one more defense on a deserving member and that he won the position of challenger in the category with dignity, to seek super fights in the future. The bet is on the knockout of the Brazilian, which may take a while due to the hardness and heart of the former TUF.
