There was an unusual sight in the middle of the Adelaide Cbd this morning: an eel swimming in Victoria Square's iconic fountains.

The discovery was a surprise to residents, who posted the vision on social media, and the local council.

How the eel got there is still a Mystery.

Council workers undertook the slippery task of safely transferring the creature to the more suitable River Torrens.
