A type of Huggies Baby Wipes that have been sold in Woolworths stores and online for months are being recalled due to health fears.

Anyone who bought the affected batches of the limited edition Huggies Thick Baby Wipes, Fragrance Free in The Little Mermaid and Toy Story's Rex dinosaur designs is being warned to immediately stop using them.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has advised that some batches of the wipes are contaminated with Burkholderia cepacia bacteria, which can cause serious infections of health complications in people with weakened immune systems.

The contaminated batches are marked with the batch numbers D21072005 and B21072004.

The batches have been sold at Woolworths stores and online since October 1, 2021.

Those who bought the wipes should take a photo showing the affected batch codes, then dispose of or destroy the wipes and contact Kimberly-Clark Australia to arrange for a replacement, gift card or refund.

Consumers will be asked to provide a photo to show the product has been disposed of or destroyed.

If the product has already been disposed of or destroyed, consumers are asked to notify Kimberly-Clark Australia so that the safe disposal of the products can be monitored.
