Police dog missing after foot chase in Queensland

The search continues for a missing Queensland Police Dog named Quizz who became separated from his handler during a search operation.

Quizz had been involved in a foot chase in Ipswich, west of Brisbane, tailing a teen who had fled a stolen car.

He has been missing since 3am on Tuesday.

"We ask for the members of the public that may see what appears to be the Police dog that any information we get is vitally important to progressing this search and locating the dog safely," Inspector Michael Thiesfield said.

Police Dog Quizz is a three-year-old sabel german shepherd with a black and tan hide.

He is wearing a black tracking harness with a long tracking lead.

Though he is not considered dangerous, members of the public are urged to not approach PD Quizz if they see him.

Instead, they should call police immediately on 131 444.
