The Other Mum
My name is Anniki Sommerville and I'm Super Editor at Selfish Mother, Co-founder of The Hotbed Collective and a freelance market research consultant and writer. I've just finished my first book Diary of A Midlife Crisis.
Where are you from? Do you still live there?if not where have you settled?
I come from London, and grew up in South London. My parents travelled a lot whilst I was growing up so I've also lived in Canada and South Africa. I've settled in West London in Ealing and Love it here.
What would be your revolution?
Mmm tricky one, I guess if we could say that child care and thinking about it was truly split 50/50.
What did you do on an average Saturday night before kids?
I have been a home body for a few years now so it hasn't changed a lot. I love being at home, reading, watching TV, writing. Before i felt like this was boring and i needed to go out but now I have the excuse to stay in as much as possible.
What is your Saturday like now?
Usually in bed by 10pm! Maybe a take away. Usually a boxset or some Netflix.
If you have alone time-where would you go?
I would love to be by the sea. To have my own little writing hut on the beach where I could sit in a hammock when I wasn't writing.
Where is your happy place?
Corfu or anywhere on a Greek island. Ideally sitting in a taverna eating a greek salad and drinking a beer.
What thing do you not like to do?
I am not a big fan of dancing in public. I used to be in a band and I had to get up on stage and dance. I think this put me off and made me feel super self conscious.
If you could have a superpower what would it be and why?
I would love to be able to fly. I just think it would be an amazing feeling right!

Oprah Winfrey, Ruby Wax, Sharon Horgan.
When you were little, what did you want to be?
A writer but it has taken me a long time to remember this was my original ambition.
What’s the best book you have read this year?
It would have to be Cat Marnell - ' How to Murder Your Life.'
What makes you feel afraid?
Growing old, not having enough money, lacking options- all the usual stuff.
What would your last meal be?
Macaroni cheese
What is your dream job?
One where I get to be creative and don't have to have loads of unnecessary meetings. One where I don't have to answer to other people all the time.
On the first day of ruling the world, what would you do?
I would put an ice cream van on every corner giving out free ice cream. Then I'd organise an enormous street party which would go on for three days straight (but would retire to bed before it had wrapped up).
