Google Stadia: Pricing and announcements

So Google finally unveiled the specs and pricing plans for their Google Stadia game “Streaming” service. We previously talked about Google stadia here. So stadia is going to be online from November 2019 onwards and their pre-orders are available right now. So what’s new on Stadia?

Lets first look at what we knew. Google Stadia is a gaming service aimed at making games playable on a wide range of devices through the use of online servers. So what this means is that essentially any device that can run google chrome could potentially be used to play the latest and greatest PC games even without the necessary hardware. So what’s really happening? Google Stadia service allows its subscribers to play games on specially designed google servers and stream the video to their devices. So it will be a lot like watching YouTube, but you will be playing the game instead of watching it.

Google has announced that the stadia service will be available from November 2019 onward and per orders are available right now. The stadia service will not be available on all devices just yet but will be available soon. Currently a few devices will be able to support the service.

Mobile Devices Supported

Initially, not all devices are not going to support Google stadia. Currently, only Google pixel 3 and Google pixel 3a (probably the pixel 4)will be the only mobile phones to support the service. But it might just be a matter of time till its available to other phones as well.

Subscription pricing

If you want to jump on the Stadia hype train , you can pick up the $129 Stadia Founder’s Edition.

The Founders Edition includes a special Night Blue Stadia Controller (Limited edition), a ChromeCast Ultra, 3 months of Stadia Pro, a 3-month buddy pass for giving Pro access to a friend, and a copy of Destiny 2 complete with all of its expansions. click here to get the founders pack right now!

For everyone else, the Google stadia will have a  $9.99 per month subscription service (Stadia pro) that gets you a growing library of games at the service’s highest streaming quality. Its probably going to be something similar to PlayStation plus service, but we will just have to wait and see. The Stadia Pro subscription also provides exclusive discounts to game purchases. The gaming resolution for Pro users can be up to 4K and 60 FPS with 5.1 Surround sound.

There will also be a free Stadia Base plan to be launched next year . The Stadia Base (to be launched next year) will be a free service where you can game at resolution on 1080p 6-FPS and stereo surround sound. However there will not be any additionally free games for free users and they will have to buy games to their library. The games once purchased will be permanently added to your library and you can play them any time.

Available Games

There are going to be tons of games to be available in the stadia library, but it’s going to take some time to grow. Google will be adding more and more games to the service, but for now, these are the games that are going to be available for now.
