It was the 12th of January, 2018, and your Mummy had just held you for the first time. You were taken back to the nursery to rest and your mummy was allowed time to recover.
Your daddy on the other hand, Had no time to spare. As soon as you were taken back to the nursery, he was off and Running. There would be lots to do that day.
There were still administrative matters to attend to at the hospital. I had been busy looking after your mummy and had procrastinated on some of the paperwork. Also, I had been making frequent trips to visit you at the NICU ward… Just to make sure you were doing fine. It was high time I got them done. It took me an hour to complete those tasks. Running up and down to retrieve documents.
At home, we still had not set up your Crib. That would be my next task. Everything had to be ready by the time we brought you home. The crib was not the only thing I would have to set up at home. There was also the matter of unpacking the UV steriliser and testing it. I also had to unbox milk bottles and make sure your clothes were washed and dried. Your changing station too would have to be set up. It was a race to finish all the preparations.
So back and forth between hospital and home, your daddy would run. It wouldn’t be until the following evening of that everything would be set up just right, and that no detail was left overlooked..
