For Months

To say, “It is November 9” :

• C’est le 9 (Neuf) Novembre.
• On est le 9 Novembre.
• Nous sommes le 9 Novembre.

For Years

• Use “an” to the years that end with 0.

To say, “It is the year 2010” / “It’s 2010” :

C’est l’an 2010 / C’est 2010.

To say, “In the year 2000” / “In 2000“:

En l’an 2000 / En 2000.

• Use “année” to the years that do not end with 0.

To say, “It is the year 2005“/ “It’s 2005“:

C’est l’année 2005 / C’est 2005.

To say, “In the year 1993” / “In 1993“:

En l’année 1993 / En 1993.
