Tony suffered a hamstring injury during Saturday night's show.

Shirley Ballas and her fellow judges awarded Fleur a total of 39 points this week.

After Fleur's performance, Shriley said: “Well first of all over the first five weeks, with everybody, I like to give some really tough constructive criticism and I felt Fleur took it with grace, with charm.

"I know and I heard that she keeps notes and she studies, she's really, really been listening to the judges.

“The Samba is such a difficult dance to do. Choreographed beautifully by Vito, and she just mastered it, she did several of the basic steps, plus open steps, her arms were beautiful, her musicality was beautiful, her leg action was off the charts. She was brilliant."

  • Shirley gives ‘shock’ praise

Ellie Taylor performed the Charleston to Friendship by Elaine Paige and Bernard Cribbins alongside her partner Johannes.

After the performance Shirley Ballas gave the couple some praise as well as a high score of eight, leaving fans shocked.

One said: “Shirley being nice to Ellie – wow that’s a shock,” whilst a second added: “Shirley being nice to Ellie is she feeling ok.”

  • Viewers demand Ellie makes an epic return

Viewers have demanded that Paralympian Ellie Simmonds should return to the dance floor.

One said on Twitter: "Can we have Ellie back as there was no dance-off this week? #Strictly."

Another chimed in: "Tony should have already gone with Ellie Symmonds still there."

Ellie was voted out of the competition alongside her dance partner Nikita Kuzmin in week seven.

don’t suffer in silence and reach out for help.

"Little did I know that I was going to learn a lot about myself in the process. I thought this ‘journey’ rubbish was nonsense, but my god the rollercoaster of emotion. I’ve got to be honest, it’s tough,
physically it’s really tough out there, but dancing is really fantastic for you.

"Go out there and enjoy it and pick up new skills and explore. I suppose I had better mention this one [Katya] hadn’t I, she is an
exceptional human being, she really is.”

  • Why was there no dance-off?

Usually, the public votes for their favourite performances of the night, putting two couples at risk of leaving the show.

The couples then take part in an intense dance-off, where they battle it out to stay, leaving the final decision in the hands of the judges.

However, due to a serious injury, Tony Adams, who was one of the celebs vulnerable of going home, had to make the choice to end his time in the competition.

The wildlife documentary cameraman was in floods of tears following the performance, which was dedicated to his Sudanese and African heritage.

South Africa-raised Motsi Mabuse also cried as she gushed that she never thought she would see this kind of performance on the show.
