CHELSEA want to set up a network of feeder clubs to rival Premier League titans Manchester City, SunSport can exclusively reveal.

The club’s new owners are looking into revamping the whole structure at Stamford Bridge and that includes the development of young players.

Chairman Todd Boehly and his board of directors have been studying business models of other teams.

On the transfer front, summer target Raphinha has revealed that Neymar is the reason why he rejected a deal to go to Stamford Bridge.

The Brazilian claims that he spoke to Neymar on the phone who informed that he wouldn't regret becoming a Blaugruna.

Stay up to date with all the latest from Stamford Bridge...

  • Marcus Rashford targeted

New Chelsea chairman Todd Boehly is keen on Manchester United star Marcus Rashford for next summer.

That is according to Repubblica, who report that Boehly is willing to meet Rashford's salary demands should a new deal not be signed.

The centre-forward's contract runs out in June, although United manager Erik ten Hag insists he wants him to extend.

The Blues were desperate for a striker to replace Romelu Lukaku, who returned to Inter Milan on loan this summer, and landed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on transfer deadline day

  • No fear 4 Pott

Chelsea's new boss Graham Potter will not be sacked if he fails to make the top four.

Potter has been told that while Champions League qualification is a massive target this season, it will not be make or break for his job.

This is a huge departure from tradition at Stamford Bridge where it has been recognised as the bare minimum to remain in employment.

But new owner Todd Boehly and his fellow directors are insistent that they are in it for the long term with Potter and that he will be given time.

The former Brighton manager signed a five-year contract worth over £10million a year and has been told he will get full support from Stamford Bridge bigwigs

  • Chelsea slammed for Tuchel axe

Mainz sporting director Christian Heidel has criticised Chelsea owner Todd Boehly for sacking former manager Thomas Tuchel, who started out at the Mewa Arena.

Heidel told Bild: "The sacking is grist to the mill of those who are against investors in football. It was purely an investor's decision.

"Someone who has no idea about football probably thought that sixth place wasn't good enough for him and said: 'Then let's try another coach' after only six games.

"I can't think of any other reason. But Chelsea will bitterly regret this decision – they won't get such a good coach again so quickly"

  • Why Raphinha rejected Chelsea

Barcelona star Raphinha has opened up on his transfer to the Nou Camp and revealed the reason he rejected a deal with Chelsea.

The winger completed a £57million move to Barca from Leeds over the summer after talking to Paris Saint-Germain star and Blaugrana hero Neymar.

As quoted by BarcaTimes, the Brazil international said: "I rejected Chelsea because my dream was to wear the Barcelona shirt."

Raphinha added: "I talked to Neymar about a move and he told me that if I get to Barcelona then I won’t regret and he was right"

  • Graham Potter wages

Graham Potter will pocket more than £50million after joining Chelsea as their new manager.

The Blues officially welcomed Potter on a five-year contract on Thursday and he oversaw his first training session the day after.

The 47-year-old tactician will earn just over £10m a year - far more than his predecessor Thomas Tuchel who was paid around £8m a year before he was sacked.

Potter said: “I am incredibly proud and excited to represent this fantastic football club.

“I am very excited to partner with Chelsea’s new ownership group and look forward to meeting and working with the exciting group of players and to develop a team and culture that our amazing fans can be proud of”

  • Unhappy Gilmour

Billy Gilmour will be baffled by his switch to Brighton from Chelsea — just days before Graham Potter went the other way.

The 21-year-old midfielder was cleared to go after talks with Thomas Tuchel.

And he was persuaded to make the move to Brighton by Potter.

Gilmour did not want to quit the Blues on deadline day after returning from a dismal loan at Norwich.

And he told pals he only chose the Seagulls because of the way Potter plays.

Gilmour will now wait to see who Brighton bring in as their new boss.

  • Ronaldo linked

Todd Boehly could get his wish by bringing Cristiano Ronaldo to Stamford Bridge, according to a new report.

Fichajes claim that the American owner is desperate to sign the Man Utd star, and is hopeful new manager Graham Potter agrees.

The Portuguese outlet added that Thomas Tuchel was against the idea of signing Ronaldo and blocked the deal.

However, with Tuchel now gone they could reignite their interest in the five -time Ballon d'or winner.

  • Leao boost

Chelsea have reportedly received a boost in their pursuit of Rafael Leao.

That’s because AC Milan are refusing to meet his wage demands for a new contract.

The versatile striker, 23, was a deadline day target for the Blues.

But ex-boss Thomas Tuchel was unable to complete a deal when Milan pointed to Leao’s £127million release clause.

The Italians have since opened talks with their star man over a new long-term deal.

And Chelsea’s chances of returning for Leao in January appeared to be slim.

  • Chelsea's January deals

Chelsea could revisit three moves that they failed with in the summer transfer window, according to reports.

Blues owner Todd Boehly is set to back new boss Graham Potter in January in the market, as the ex-Brighton boss looks to put his own stamp on his new team.

Ajax star Edson Alvarez, PSV Eindhoven’s Ibrahim Sangare and Southampton starlet Romeo Lavia were all linked with the West London side - however moves never materialised.

According to the Evening Standard, a midfielder is a priority - with those names still in frame.

  • Potter's debut

Graham Potter's first match in charge of the Blues could also be his Champions League debut.

Chelsea were set to take on Fulham this weekend, before the passing of the Queen saw all Premier League and EFL games postponed this weekend.

However, Potter's side are due to face FC Salzburg on Wednesday. And according to Sky Sports, all Champions League matches are due to go ahead.

They said: "Discussions have been ongoing between UEFA and all the British teams in #UCL, Europa League and Europa Conference League competitions and all matches are expected to go ahead."

  • Potter's salary

Graham Potter will earn £10million-a-year at Chelsea after signing a lucrative five-year deal at Stamford Bridge.

And that makes the 47-year-old the joint FOURTH highest earner in the Premier League after he received a bumper pay rise after leaving Brighton.

The ex-Swansea gaffer was believed to have been pocketing £2m-per-year with the Seagulls where he was one of the top-flight's lowest earners.

But SunSport understands he will take home £50m from the long-term contract he penned in West London.

That is more than sacked predecessor Thomas Tuchel - who was paid around £7m-a-year by the Blues.

  • Gavi snub

Chelsea's pursuit of Barcelona ace Gavi appears to be over, with the Catalans hopeful of tying him up to a longterm contract.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has tweeted that the Spanish teen ace is close to securing a new deal with the wonderkid.

Earlier this week it was claimed the Blues were one of a number of clubs chasing the midfield talent.

Romano says negotiations are close to being resolved - and Barcelona are confident he will commit his future to the club.

  • That's Tu bad

Mainz sporting director Christian Heidel has slammed Chelsea owner Todd Boehly for sacking former manager Thomas Tuchel.

Barcelona star Raphinha has opened up on his transfer to the Nou Camp and revealed the reason he rejected a move to Chelsea.

The winger completed a £57million move to Barca from Leeds over the summer after talking to Paris Saint-Germain superstar and Blaugrana hero Neymar.

As quoted by BarcaTimes, the Brazil international said: "I rejected Chelsea because my dream was to wear the Barcelona shirt."

Raphinha added: "I talked to Neymar about a move and he told me that if I get to Barcelona then I won’t regret and he was right"

  • Marcus Rashford targeted

New Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is keen on attracting Manchester United star Marcus Rashford to Stamford Bridge next summer.

That is according to Repubblica, who claim Boehly is willing to meet Rashford's salary demands should a new deal not be signed.

The centre-forward's contract runs out in June, although United boss Erik ten Hag insists he wants him to extend.

The Blues were desperate for a striker to replace Romelu Lukaku, who returned to Inter Milan on loan, and landed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on transfer deadline day

  • How Cole joined Chelsea

Former Arsenal chief David Dein revealed that the Gunners struggled financially compared to the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Newcastle which made it difficult to retain players like Ashley Cole.

Cole left the North Londoners for rivals Chelsea in 2006 "over five grand a week".

Dein revealed in his new autobiography 'Calling the Shots': "Arsene [Wenger] and I would come out of board meetings feeling we’d been knocking our heads against a brick wall.

"We lost Ashley Cole over five grand a week. It was a very difficult time"

  • It was Tu much

Chelsea stars "hated" playing near the dugouts as they were sick of former manager Thomas Tuchel moaning on the sideline.

Tuchel was sacked by the club following their shock Champions League defeat away at Dinamo Zagreb.

The German head coach is said to have lost the faith of new owner Todd Boehly and his players.

According to the Daily Mail, a number of the Blues' wide players disliked playing alongside Stamford Bridge's East Stand.

This is because the ex-Paris Saint-Germain manager would stand in his technical area on that touchline and complain.

And the Chelsea players grew sick of his "constant barking and moaning".

Wing-backs and wingers were supposedly fed up with Tuchel groaning loudly whenever they made a mistake

  • More from Scolari

Luiz Felipe Scolari added about his Chelsea departure in 2009: "When he [Didier Drogba] came back, I tried to adapt so that Drogba and [Nicolas] Anelka could play together.

"Anelka was the top scorer in the league. We had a meeting and Anelka said, 'I only play in one position.' So, there was a bit of a lack of friendship, of respect, of trying to play together with Drogba.

"They were both great, but someone had to do something different, to get back to help when we lost the ball. That was when it changed a bit. But we’ve met since then, me and Drogba.

"The last time was in Russia in 2018. We spoke openly about it. There wasn’t any ill intention from him or Anelka. But it happened and I lost out on one of the great chances of my life"

  • Scolari talks Chelsea dismissal

Luiz Felipe Scolari revealed bust-ups with Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka led to his sacking as Chelsea manager.

Scolari told Yellow and Green Football: "Chelsea had some problems with injuries, some problems in the team. I had a form of leadership that clashed with one or two players."

"Anelka and Drogba. Our medical department thought that we should let Drogba go and recover in Cannes, in the middle of summer.

"I thought he should stay in London. I’d also like to go to Cannes in the middle of summer. I’d stay there for a month, two months, enjoying myself"

  • Champions League still on

Champions League football will go ahead for Chelsea after Queen Elizabeth II's passing.

With the nation mourning the loss of the longest-reigned monarch in British history, no domestic matches will be played this weekend.

But the same does not apply for next week's round of European UEFA fixtures for all Premier League clubs.

If any Prem side were not to play, they would be forfeiting the points.

That means Chelsea's clash with Red Bull Salzburg on Wednesday at Stamford Bridge will still go ahead

  • Premier League schedule

All football matches have been postponed this weekend following Queen Elizabeth II’s passing.

However, next week’s fixtures are still scheduled to take place while we wait confirmation for the London matches - including Chelsea vs Liverpool - ahead of The Queen’s funeral on Monday 19, September at Westminster Abbey.

The game between Brighton and Crystal Palace – scheduled for Saturday, 17 September – has been postponed due to a planned industrial action on the rail network

    Friday 16th September

    Aston Villa vs Southampton

    Nottingham Forest vs Fulham

    Saturday 17th September

    Wolves vs Manchester City

    Newcastle vs Bournemouth

    Tottenham vs Leicester

    Sunday 18th September

    Brentford vs Arsenal

    Everton vs West Ham

    Manchester United vs Leeds

    Chelsea vs Liverpool

  • Chelsea vs Liverpool latest

Chelsea's clash with Liverpool could be moved amid policing issues in London following The Queen’s death.

Elizabeth II died peacefully aged 96 on Thursday - marking an end to her historic reign and making her son, Charles, King.

The Premier League and EFL have postponed all games this weekend along with a host of other sporting events.

The Blues are still scheduled to take on Liverpool on Sunday, 18 September at Stamford Bridge.

No sporting events are expected to take place during the Queen’s funeral parade and service, which are expected to take place on Monday, 19 September.

But millions of people are likely to start descending to London on the Sunday, which will provide a huge drain on Metropolitan police resources, to pay tribute to The Queen after her 70-year reign.

That could mean that there will not be enough officers available to work at Stamford Bridge

  • Man Utd rejected Potter

Manchester United rejected the chance to hire Graham Potter… twice.

Potter was announced as new Chelsea manager after Thomas Tuchel was ruthlessly sacked by owner Todd Boehly.

United were twice encouraged to move for the 47-year-old, once when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked and again while searching for a permanent replacement during Ralf Rangnick's turbulent tenure.

That's according to The Athletic, who claim the Red Devils turned down the chance to hold talks with Potter on both occasions.

His lack of Champions League experience was ultimately the reason the Manchester giants chose not to try and poach him from Brighton

  • Give us a Cu

Birmingham ace Troy Deeney expects Chelsea players to grill ex-Brighton star Marc Cucurella in order to find out how their new manager Graham Potter is.

Deeney told SunSport: "When Graham Potter was appointed as Chelsea boss this week, players’ phones will have been going crazy.

"The players’ WhatsApp group will have been buzzing and there will have been calls and messages from friends, family, agents and others in the game.

"Everyone just wants to know what the new man is like and every player will know others who have played under their new boss and they will be mining them for information.

"Players talk and message all the time. We’re gossips. You can bet everyone at Chelsea will have been asking Marc Cucurella about Potter, as he played for their new manager at Brighton last season"

  • No fear 4 Pott

New Chelsea manager Graham Potter will not be sacked if he fails to make the top four.

Potter has been told that while Champions League qualification is a massive target this season, it will not be make or break for his job.

The former Brighton boss signed a five-year contract worth over £10million a year and has been told he will get full support from the club's hierarchy
