Have you ever played that game where somebody fills a jar with either toys or candy or some kind of a prize, and it’s your task to Figure out how many are in the jar? Now imagine if that jar is filled full of Sand, and your task is to figure out how many grains of sand are in the jar. It feels pretty impossible, right? It could be hundreds upon hundreds, thousands upon thousands, even millions, depending on the size of the jar, right? Well, God’s thoughts towards us are like that. It’s uncountable.

Let me just read to you what Psalm 139:17-18 says. “How precious also are your thoughts to me, O God. How great is the sum of them? If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand. When I’m awake, I’m still with you.” Do you ever wonder what are all of those thoughts? How is God Thinking of me? Well, if we turn to Psalm 40:5, he says, “You have multiplied, O LORD my God, your wondrous deeds and your thoughts towards us. None can compare with you. I will proclaim and tell them yet they are more than to be told.

The God of creation is constantly thinking about us, and His thoughts of us are good. His plans for us are good. So we can’t really afford to have thoughts that don’t line up to His, right? Wisdom would say that our thoughts need to line up with His and not the other way around. So I would encourage you today to just ask God, “God, how are you thinking of me today? And God, reveal to me any ways that I’m thinking of myself that don’t line up with you.”

I want to just pray for us. God, I’m so thankful that your thoughts of me are so good, God. I’m thankful that when you think of us, you have good thoughts and you have good plans. Lord, help us to know those thoughts that you have of us. Help us to just reveal anything that’s not lining up with your thoughts of us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
