Man found stabbed at Sunol gas station following shooting in Pleasanton

Overnight storm in Bay Area is last rain of the weekend, but more is on the way

PLEASANTON — A man was found by authorities with a stab wound to the neck and bullet holes in his car Friday evening in Sunol following a shooting in Pleasanton.

Pleasanton Police said they received reports of gunfire at a home near the 4800 block of Bernal Avenue around 9 p.m., and that a man was seen bleeding not far away.

When officers arrived, they found shell casings and searched for the man but didn’t immediately locate him, according to a news release issued by Pleasanton police Saturday.

Later, with assistance from the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office, the man was found at a Gas Station in Sunol, several miles south of where the shell casings were found, police said.

He was taken to a hospital and police said he was expected to survive.

No further details about the investigation were immediately available.

Police said anyone with information about the shooting can call 925-931-5100.
