JLo gets candid about Ben's early Valetine's Day gift before their Super Bowl date

These two lovebirds got an early start on Valentine's Day 2022. In her On The JLo newsletter over the weekend, Jennifer Lopez revealed her on-again love Ben Affleck surprised her with a pre-V-Day gift that she said "melted my heart." It was an edited music video for her track, "On My Way" from "Marry Me" that featured photos of the couple dating back to their first stab at romance in 2002. Although the relationship didn't work out — they got engaged before calling it quits in 2004 before reuniting last year — Jennifer told fans the gift gave her new ideas about how love works. "Watching it made me think about the journey of true love, its unexpected twists and turns, and that when it's real, it actually can last forever," she said of the video, noting that it was" "very special and personal," according to People. Jen and Ben were later spotted enjoying a Super Bowl date night at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif., as the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals. At one point, the cameras showed Jen dancing next to Ben in the stands before the two watched Eminem, Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg and more performers during the Halftime Show.

Zoe Kravitz talks love, divorce and her personal 'journey' as Channing Tatum romance continues

With her turn as Catwoman in "The Batman" due out next month, followed by her directorial debut, "Pussy Island," and her first album, Zoe Kravitz says she's "optimistic" about the future in Elle's March 2022 cover story. The 33-year-old star also admits she's glad her 20s are behind her, and opens up about her personal "journey" in recent years, including her split from husband Karl Glusman in 2021 and her rumored romance with Channing Tatum. "Karl's an incredible human being," she says of her ex when asked about the divorce. "It really is less about him and more about me learning how to ask myself questions about who I am and still learning who I am, and that being OK. That's the journey I'm on right now." For Zoe, that means a new perspective on ideas about things like having kids — or even acting like one herself. "It's been an interesting journey of remembering that there's no finish line that I have to get to by a certain time," she says. "Playful, mischievous behavior is something I always hope to have, even when I'm 70 years old. The point of being alive is to experience life and play with it. There's still so much fun to be had." Looking back, however, Zoe says she was "a mess" as a 20-something. "I wasn't making choices based on what felt good to me," she explains. "Now we're in an era of, 'What do I actually want?' The good spot right now is taking a minute to say, 'Maybe I should do this differently' and seeing what that feels like." When the interviewer notes Zoe's always smiling in photos of her with Channing, she simply confirms she's "happy," musing later that she's feeling "optimistic about life" right now. "All my relationships in life — my friendships, my romantic relationships, my family — the journey is learning how to show up honestly," she says. "Sometimes we can't show up, and that's OK as long as we know how to communicate that we love those people." She adds, "That's the 20-year-old who's like, 'I can do it all. I can do it all. I can do it all.' And now I'm in a place where whatever I'm feeling is OK, wherever I'm at is OK."

NFL knew Eminem would take a knee at Super Bowl Halftime Show

In an apparent show of solidarity with calls for racial justice and an end to police brutality, Eminem closed out his performance of "Lose Yourself" during the Super Bowl Halftime Show on Feb. 13 by taking a knee as he put one hand to his head. Given the controversy around former San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick's decision to kneel in protest during the National Anthem during the 2016 football season — a move other players adopted as well — some wondered if the NFL had approved Em's kneeling moment in advance According to the New York Times, Brian McCarthy, a rep for the league, said officials knew Eminem would kneel during the performance because they'd "watched it during rehearsals this week." He reportedly added that "players, coaches and personnel were free to have taken a knee before Sunday's game," and said the league has not pursued disciplinary action against anyone who's chosen to do so. This year's hip-hop focused halftime show was by far the biggest platform the NFL has given the genre. The show was produced by Jay-Z's Roc Nation, which has handled the halftime shows since 2019, when the NFL announced it intended "to amplify the league's social justice efforts."

NBC hit with backlash after misidentifying Mickey Guyton as Jhene Aiko

Super Bowl viewers were not impressed with NBC as coverage of the game got underway in Inglewood, California, on Feb. 13, and the network misidentified country star Mickey Guyton as singer Jhene Aiko. The moment came as Jhene was singing "America the Beautiful" prior to Mickey's National Anthem performance. The camera showed Mickey with text below her that read "Jhene Aiko." According to Variety, NBC Sports quickly corrected the mistake and posted an apology on Twitter, writing, "We incorrectly showed Mickey Guyton and misidentified her before showing Aiko's performance. We apologize to both artists for the error." The post did little to stem the tide of backlash that surfaced on social media, though. "There is nothing more American than the NFL getting a lineup of all women of color to sing before the game just for the cameraman to not even bother to learn the difference between Jhene Aiko and Mickey Guyton," one user tweeted. While some suggested the mistake happened because "the camera person didn't bother to pan away quick enough," others called it "embarrassing." Wrote one user, "Tighten up, NBC. All black folks don't look alike."

Ernie Hudson, Paul Feig and more stars honor 'Ghostbusters' filmmaker Ivan Reitman

Stars are paying tribute to Ivan Reitman, who produced "National Lampoon's Animal House" in 1978 and directed the epic action comedy "Ghostbusters" in 1984, in the wake of his death on Feb. 12. The Czechoslovakia-born filmmaker, 75, died in his sleep at home in Montecito, California, his family confirmed to the Associated Press. "I am deeply saddened by the loss of Ivan' Reitman," "Ghostbusters" star Ernie Hudson shared on Twitter. "Truly a great man and filmmaker who I had honor and privilege of knowing and working with." He added his "deepest condolences to Jason and the entire family," in reference to Ivan's son, Jason Reitman, who directed "Ghostbusters: Afterlife," which Ivan produced, along with films like "Meatballs" and "Stripes." Judd Apatow, also on Twitter, recalled, "Opening night of Ghostbusters at UA Plainview was like a rock concert. The place exploded with joy. It was one of the most memorable moments of my childhood. Ivan Reitman influenced everything we all love about film comedy. A true legend." Like Judd, Mindy Kaling couldn't help but think about the impact Ivan's films had on her when she was growing up. "Ivan Reitman was old school in the best way, and kind," she shared. "I loved working with him. It's sad he's gone, it makes me feel older and like my childhood movies are more faraway than ever. RIP." Paul Feig, who produced the 2016 "Ghostbusters" reboot, tweeted a memory of Ivan saying he was "so happy for you I feel like crying" after the movie's final test screening. "That's the kind of generous man he was. ❤️," Paul wrote. Jason Reitman and his family members, meanwhile, told the A.P.: "Our family is grieving the unexpected loss of a husband, father, and grandfather who taught us to always seek the magic in life. We take comfort that his work as a filmmaker brought laughter and happiness to countless others around the world. While we mourn privately, we hope those who knew him through his films will remember him always."
