Heather Locklear is back! The blonde beauty stars as the titular writer in the Lifetime made-for-TV movie "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff: The Kristine Carlson Story" — her first acting job in more than four years. In honor of its debut on Oct. 16, 2021, Wonderwall.com is taking a look back at the "Dynasty" and "Melrose Place" alum's most wonderfully outdated fashion and beauty moments from early in her career in the '80s and '90s. Let's start with this wild getup… During a portrait session in Los Angeles on Feb. 2, 1981, Heather — who was about 20 at the time — paired a silver halter top with high-waisted jeans and a matching silver belt. Our favorite thing about this lewk? That she was wearing a belt … over her pants and shirt … instead of through the belt loops on her jeans.

Now keep reading for more of Heather's most fantastically retro fashion and beauty moments…

A teenaged Heather Locklear gave us blonde-Joan-Jett vibes in this pre-fame pic circa 1978.

The dress that Heather Locklear wore to the 1987 People's Choice Awards had it all: layers upon layers of white lace, feathers and beaded tassels.

A baby-faced Heather Locklear wore her hair in a volumized side-ponytail during a portrait session in Los Angeles on Feb. 2, 1981.

Heather Locklear's look during the 1987 Golden Globe Awards was A LOT! The actress donned a shiny blue long-sleeved dress with shoulder pads and accessorized with giant drop earrings. She completed her look with arguably her worst hairdo ever!

Leg warmers! Jane Fonda would've approved of the aerobics ensemble Heather Locklear sported during a portrait session in Los Angeles on Feb. 2, 1981.

Heather Locklear channeled Jackie O in an adorable (albeit extremely dated!) pink suit comprised of a fitted jacket and dress shorts while posing for a portrait in Los Angeles on June 9, 1986.

Make way for rock 'n' roll royalty! Heather Locklear chose an oversized tuxedo-inspired mini and a tulle-embellished hat for the 1989 MTV VMAs. Her best accessory of the evening, though? That would be her arm candy: then-husband Tommy Lee, who rocked jeans and a leopard-print vest sans undershirt.

Here's a quick look at the fantastically '80s ensemble Heather Locklear donned to marry Tommy Lee in Santa Barbara, California, on May 10, 1986. Her strapless beaded gown came with matching detached sleeves, and she accessorized with a veiled headpiece featuring strands of beads that cascaded past her shoulders. Her husband, meanwhile, sported a satiny all-white ensemble with a lacy collar.

Farrah Fawcett, eat your heart out! Heather Locklear wore her long blonde locks in a feathered hairdo during a portrait session in Los Angeles on Feb. 2, 1981.

Amanda Woodward has arrived! Heather Locklear posed as her "Melrose Place" alter ego in a promotional photo for the hit FOX drama, which aired from 1992 to 1999. While her classic LBD was timeless, her then-trendy '90s hair and makeup — chunky blonde highlights, teeny tiny eyebrows and over-lined lips — definitely were not!

Everything about this 1983 portrait screams '80s: from Heather Locklear's lace-embellished scoop-neck sweater and her feathered hairdo to her bright pink lipstick and that drab backdrop, which featured a graphic geometric design. She's pictured as an off-duty version of her on-screen alter ego, Officer Stacy Sheridan, on "T.J. Hooker." (Heather spent the bulk of the '80s simultaneously starring on both the cop drama and on "Dynasty.")

Two years after Elizabeth Hurley made fashion history with her iconic Versace safety pin dress, Heather Locklear rocked a similar style to the 1996 Golden Globe Awards.

Heather Locklear flaunted her figure in a curve-hugging off-the-shoulder mini during a dinner date with then-boyfriend Tommy Lee in Hollywood on Jan. 28, 1991. It was her accessories that gave us pause: While we loved her shoulder-skimming gold drop earrings, she could've gone without the white tights or her satiny mowbray-style hat.

During the "Dynasty" 200th episode celebration on Dec. 15, 1988, Heather Locklear modeled a perfect example of the peasant-inspired aesthetic popularized in the '80s: an emerald off-the-shoulder dress with a lace-up drop-waist. She completed her look with sheer black tights, naturally!

Heather Locklear rocked an oversized knit cardigan for her star-making turn as Sammy Jo on ABC's "Dynasty," which aired from 1981 to 1989.

Heather Locklear sported a quintessentially '80s all-white ensemble — an oversized blazer-style jacket over a mesh top and loose-fitting trousers — while accompanying then-boyfriend Scott Baio to the premiere of "The Natural" at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills on May 9, 1984.

Behold: Another retro all-white look from Heather Locklear — an off-the-shoulder peasant-style dress — that she wore during a night out with then-boyfriend Scott Baio. The young beauty got all dolled up to accompany her baby-faced beau to the 27th Annual WAIF Ball the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills on Feb. 4, 1983.

Here's how Heather Locklear looked when she made her debut as Sammy Jo on "Dynasty" in 1981. While her 'do is undeniably early '80s, we could kinda see a young Hollywood startlet working this same ensemble — a cropped floral-print top with short shorts — even today!

Heather Locklear looked ready to rock in a ruched leather long-sleeved number at the Second Stuntman Awards in Los Angeles in 1986.

Another retro all-black Heather Locklear look we love? The actress wore a lacy black top tucked into black jeans with black cowboy boots while out for dinner in Hollywood on Nov. 6, 1991.

The cutest! Heather Locklear sported roller skates, knee socks and a shiny purple varsity jacket while portraying Sammy Jo on a 1981 episode of ABC's "Dynasty."

This ensemble was straight out of the early '90s! Heather Locklear wore gingham-print shorts with an oversized white button-down shirt that she tied in the front for a day out at the Making Strides Against Cancer Benefit on June 20, 1992.

We bet Heather Locklear went through a mountain of hairspray bottles during the mid-'80s. Her teased hair reached new heights during the Starlight Foundation Gala in Los Angeles on Feb. 14, 1986.

Long before essentially every woman in Hollywood rocked sheer sheaths over their undergarments, Heather Locklear modeled the look at the 1996 VH1/Vogue Fashion Awards in New York City. Her lilac long-sleeved number featured a velour flower motif and came with a matching velvety jacket, which she shed while posing for photos.

Time for another fantastically '90s sheer look from Heather Locklear! The actress wore a black maxiskirt with a sheer top featuring an image of the Virgin Mary smack in the middle during the Fourth Annual Blockbuster Entertainment Awards at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood on March 10, 1997.

It's the visor for us! Heather Locklear rocked the popular '80s accessory at an event for "Battle of the Network Stars" at Pepperdine University in Malibu on Sept. 1, 1986.

Who did this to Heather Locklear?! The actress wore a sheer top with a black miniskirt, an oversized choker and beaded fringe knee-high boots during the 1999 VH1/Vogue Fashion Awards.

Is this Heather Locklear's Marilyn Monroe moment? Back in 1991, the blonde beauty posed for a portrait in what appeared to be a modest one-piece swimsuit.

Heather Locklear looked pretty in pink in a sleeveless gown with a high neckline and a ruffled collar during the 1995 Emmys.

People just did headbands differently in the early '80s. Heather Locklear wore a white braided band across her forehead during an outing in 1982.

A fresh-faced Heather Locklear scored another adorably dated hair moment while posing as her "Dynasty" alter ego, Sammy Jo, in this undated portrait.

Matchy, matchy! Heather Locklear and then-boyfriend Scott Baio sported matching polo shirts in 1982.
