ScotRail has announced an incredible travel deal to help families enjoy fun days out for less this summer.

The ‘Kids for a Quid’ Ticket is available off-peak only, which ScotRail defines as “after 9.15am on weekdays and any time at the weekend” and means for every paying adult, up to four children can travel for just £1 return each, making exploring with the family great value for money.

Kids for a Quid tickets are available with most adult tickets including a ScotRail Season Ticket or Flexipass.

ScotRail also said there’s no need to book in advance, simply buy your Kids for a Quid ticket at the station ticket office, or when that isn't available, on the train.

And the best bit is, while it’s a perfect partner for summer days out, the deal is available for off-peak travel and weekends all-year-round - including school holidays.

The Kids for a Quid ticket also gives free entry for one child at top attractions across Scotland when you buy a standard entry, full price adult ticket. Unfortunately, some attractions are still closed due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Here is the latest list of 20 attractions offering free entry as part of the Kids for a Quid ScotRail ticket deal:

  • Abbotsford House
  • Aberdeen Science Centre
  • Armadale Castle, Gardens and Museum
  • Camera Obscura and World of Illusions
