Meet Eve Black. Nearly 20 years ago her family were murdered in their home in Cork, Ireland whilst she hid in the bathroom.

“When I was twelve years old a man broke into our home and murdered my mother, father and younger sister…”

Now, at 30 years old, her search has become obsessive and has decided to write a book in the hope of jogging someone’s memory and bring The Nothing Man to justice. For Eve’s family weren’t the first victims.

“It’s the hope that sustains me…help us make this ending the beginning.”

Jim Doyle is reading the book too with a deep seated interest into finding out how much she remembers. Why does it matter? Because Jim is the Nothing Man.

“A ghost of a man, made entirely of shadows.”

With every page, Jim becomes more and more enraged. Eve will stop at nothing until she discovers his identity. Eve is close to the truth, he has no choice but to stop her first. But the very secret of his alternate persona is threatened not only by Eve but by those closest to him too.

“He was about to walk up to the woman who’d made it her mission to find him and failed at it. Instead, he was coming to her.”

This book is clever and captivating. It flips between Eve’s book and Jim. We get both sides of the story. A game of cat and mouse with twists and turns throughout. But that’s all I’m going to say because trust me, you’re going to want to find out for yourself! 5/5 stars! I really enjoyed this book and was gripped at every turn.
