Your Weekly Music Fix #17

I actually cannot believe I am still going with this “section” of my blog but I guess I might as well just keep at it. This week was not much different from the rest of the colorful musical discoveries and I am once again here to share part of them with you. In case you are interested in my comments for some of the songs keep reading, but if you just want to check out some music suggestions I have the Spotify and YouTube playlists ready for you.

Ode To The Bouncer – Studio Killers

This one is definitely one of the most interesting discoveries I have made recently. It’s catchy, it’s entertaining, it’s funny, and it sounds damn good.

You have to admit the creativity in making this song and video were on a high level. The lyrics are telling a real-life inspired story which you can encounter every weekend while going out at clubs if you pay attention. It is told with a great amount of humor and wit and is united with modern electronics and dancy beats which make it perfect for playing it at an actual night club. The video is simply beautiful with high-quality animation making the song literally come to life and show the story in the most descriptive way possible. It’s a must hear and a must see, I tell you that!

YONAKA – Don’t Wait ‘Till Tomorrow

Fueled By Ramen always makes the right choices whit the bands they sign and YONAKA is not an exception.

The Brighton fourpiece makes a powerful debut with their album Don’t Wait ‘Till Tomorrow and the lead single introduces them in the best possible way. Incredible energy, tangible passion, and top-quality rock instrumentals and vocals will ring in your head hours after you hear the piece. The potential of the band is evident and exploring the album proves it with each consecutive song. A mild reminder of the golden age of 2000’s neo/alternative metal the band has the great vocals, the powerful instrumentals, and the relevant topics in their songs which make them a band worth keeping an eye on. I will for sure do that and I strongly recommend you give them a chance as well.

Tessa Violet – I Like (the idea of) You

What better way to calm down and ease up after the aggressive and powerful sound of YONAKA than this incredibly addictive masterpiece by Tessa Violet. The song is incredibly soothing and will without a doubt make you want to get up and move in the rhythm inspired by the aesthetic choreography in the video. Mild vocals and rhythmic instrumentals contribute to the playful tone of I Like (the idea of) You and the creative and relatable lyrics make it even more addictive and catchy. Definitely a refreshing and enjoyable piece.

Love Fame Tragedy – My Cheating Heart

In the high spirits of Tessa Violet, the next song I want to introduce is another track with uplifting instrumentals and beats which will drastically improve your mood.

My Cheating Heart has the road-trip type of energy to it and the lyrics present and masterful storytelling which will engage your attention and make you part of the experience. The lyrics are not the jolliest ones but the story told is most definitely inspired by real life and the amazing vocals and instrumentals make it an extremely enjoyable piece to listen and hum to.

Lonley Barber – New Day

And for a magnificent and stylish end to the post, I have a song which makes me proud of being Bulgarian. The first record of this experimental jazz formation will bring peace and tranquility to your soul in a way which not many artists and bands can. Incredibly relaxing instrumentals and one of the most soothing voices you have heard in a while will contribute to your relaxation and escape from any troubles in those 3:17 minutes. The playful lyrics and matching instrumentals unite with a simple yet interesting and enjoyable video to make New Day a great start for the amiable formation.

In case you made it to the end I just want to say congrats and a huge thank you for reading my music ramblings! It was a pleasure writing this post and making the playlist of the week and I truly hope some of you managed to find some new tunes to sing or dance to.
