Your Weekly Music Fix 14

In case you are opening this post and are about to read it or just hear the songs I have picked this week, I want to say a huge and heartfelt “thank you”! Doing the weekly music fix started as an experimental idea and quickly turned into part of my routine and something I look forward to each week. It is a great pleasure for me to share the cool tracks and amazing artists I find and I truly hope some of you are at least partially enjoying hearing my discoveries. This will be a good time to once again thank all the people who keep sending me great songs and keep sharing their passion for music with me. The entire journey would be nearly pointless if there weren’t people to share it with. So, welcome to the 14th week of music discoveries, I hope you enjoy it!

A friendly reminder you can find the complete collection of songs in my Spotify and YouTube playlist.

YUNGLBUD – Parents

I love it when young upcoming artists use their voice and art to bring up important topics and relevant problems. This particular British punk-rock hotshot does that incredibly well and I am happy to say his new single is one of his most creative, witty, and relevant releases yet.

When I first saw the title I was slightly scared this might be some emo twist trying to be the new anthem for misunderstood teenagers. However, I was totally wrong and I didn’t expect to experience such a powerful metaphor and wake up call towards modern society. YUNGLBUD managed to combine some of the most relevant issues when it comes to the conservatism and lack of understanding and open-mindedness in our days especially when it comes to the clash between old and new generations. The British punk icon exposed the issue thoroughly without applying any filters and sent a message to conservative groups of people and to the masses regarding lots of trending topics. The song is a pure masterpiece in terms of lyrics and I can’t emphasize enough how much I loved the concept and the witty metaphors. The sounds of the song is another great thing to add up to the overall experience – modern tunes bringing pop-punk to life and strong, powerful instrumentals to highlight the message and point out the ridiculousness of some of the things being said in the song. YUNGBLUD managed to remain calm and collected during this one which was surprising to me but this made the song even more different and enjoyable – definitely a must hear!

Jeremy Zucker – Cometru

Jeremy Zucker is back in the playlist with a song which I think everyone on the planet should heart at least once.

The song is extremely powerful and relevant (as long as you are in a certain period in your life – you will need to hear this if that is the case). It explores the overwhelming and confusing part of your life being devastated by emotions and conflicting thoughts. It’s a great reminder you sometimes need to go easy on yourself and remember that it is perfectly fine to feel negative emotions.

The way Jeremy sings in perfect contempt and his relaxed and casual movements emphasize how ordinary the situation is and that we should approach this phenomenon casually and without overstressing about it. The melody and his soothing voice make the song a complete piece and a definite top-pick when you need to take it easy for a while.

Daniela Andrade – Genesis

Another powerful reminder dealing with personal growth and battling stress and anxiety.

Daniela Andrade‘s genius lyrics combined with her incredible and relaxing voice produced a compelling track which explores personal growth and overcoming struggles in a beautiful way. A charming song with well-constructed beats and instrumentals which tells a story which you will most likely relate to. Great to play when you need comfort during a hard time in your life and you need an extra push of motivation. The video is extremely pleasant and overpowers the song even more so don’t forget to watch while you listen.

Wrabel – The Village

Dedicated to all the colorful birds

This seems to be a week of “powerful reminders” and songs which touch highly important and personal topics. And I love it.

This song is incredibly strong in both terms of lyrics and sound (and video). Heartfelt melodies unite with emotional and relevant lyrics to produce the final masterpiece which will without a doubt hit you right in the feels.

The topic we have this time is something which has been talked about for quite some time and some people still refuse to accept and get into their dumb heads. Not only the song, the video here is just like a short movie and makes the story come to life in an incredibly powerful and striking way – it’s a must see and a must hear. The track explores an issue deeply and tells a personal story which illustrates the consequence of the issue if not dealt with correctly, filled with tonnes of amazing lines and on-point sentences and references this song is just amazing and more relevant than ever! The execution is flawless.

Billie Eilish – The End of the World

I’m gonna finish you off with some covers and another emotionally fueled performance. We all know that Billie Eilish is an incredible artist and performer and this impassioned cover of The End of the World just proves it again.

The song lyrics fit Billie‘s explored themes and topics quite well and I have to say the song fits her perfectly. She sings the song with obvious devotion and understanding and made it even stronger. The acoustic instrumentals and back vocals further contribute to the power of the song and make it impossible not to shed a few tears. Especially if you can relate to the lyrics. Super emotional, super calming, and flawlessly executed!

Ocean Eeyes Covered by Machine Gun Kelly

Machine Gun Kelly is definitely one of the last people I would expect would cover Billie Eilish. I was pleasantly surprised by his execution and profound performance of Ocean Eyes (a song I really love) – it is great to hear his perspective of the song and hear him sing because he can do it well. This just proves MGK is not only a diverse and skilled rapper but also a great singer. Also, notice the amazing visuals – the culprit is this guy right here.

This will be all for this week, thanks a lot for reading my comments and I sincerely hope you enjoyed the 14th week of music! Stay tuned for more!
