Our Yorkshire Farm’s Amanda Owen shares farm woes over ‘disproportionately long’ winter | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Our Yorkshire Farm’s Amanda Owen took to Twitter last night to share an update with fans. The Yorkshire Shepherdess revealed her plans for the week, as she spoke about the “disproportionately long” winter.

The Channel 5 star, along with the help of her beloved sheep dog, will be clearing the hay meadows and also a stone wall on the farm.

The area is normally harvested in summer to provide for the animals.

Just last week, despite it being May, Amanda revealed that snow had fallen on the farm, making it feel like the middle of winter.

She had to bring some of her flock inside, in order to protect them from the elements.

“Clearing hay meadows & clearing the wall,” Amanda wrote online, alongside a set of pictures from the countryside.

“Time to rest our herb rich meadows & let them grow.

“Harvested in summertime (seems like a long way off when we had snow last week).

“It will provide for the animals over winter (which seem to be disproportionately long.) #shepherdess,” she continued in view of her 164,400 followers.

On May 8, she took to the micro-blogging account to share a video from her Ravenseat farm.

“You can’t believe this is May, it’s like the middle of winter,” she said as snow fell all around her.

“We are going round trying to feed everything and make sure they have places to shelter, but it’s really really horrible.

“I mean this is like proper snow,” she added.

Another update from Amanda revealed that it snowed in the area 100 years ago.

After an eagle-eyed follower noticed some graffiti from 1889 in a picture of her children playing, the shepherdess snapped a picture of something else that she found amusing.

“Love the 130 year old graffiti,” the social media user wrote.

“I really like the 100 year old weather report,” Amanda replied.

“JS 1922 Snowing,” the carved message read.
