The Ghibli Museum is offering virtual tours of its exhibits while it remains closed due to the spread of the coronavirus.

Employees of the museum in Mitaka, Japan posted a “video diary” of the building’s reception area at night on YouTube last Wednesday, April 29.

The short clip showed the area’s stained glass doors which featured from Studio Ghibli films such as “My Neighbor Totoro”, “Kiki’s Delivery Service” and “Mei and the Kittenbus”. A nearby hallway also had stained glass lamps installed on its walls.

According to an official statement on its website, the reception area is also called “The Cake Room”.

Meanwhile, another video focused on the permanent exhibit room, which was filled with props and artwork from the popular anime productions. The museum also pointed out that “the movie is born” in the said room.

The famous tourist site for anime fans began its temporary closure in February in light of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s move to curb the spread of the coronavirus. JB
