Actress Neri Naig donated personal protective equipment (PPE) to front line workers using the money she and her son Miggy received from product endorsements.

Naig, wife of Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda, mulled over the significance of being an “influencer” amid the COVID-19 pandemic on her Instagram post yesterday, March 31. The actress also said they will be distributing the masks to their subdivision guards, garbage collectors and hospital workers.

(Influencer is what they call us who create posts for brands. At a time like this, I think it looks like wrong timing to make branded posts. But then I thought maybe this is the right time to embody the term influencer. Maybe I can influence my fellow influencers.)

In the hopes of inspiring others to follow suit, Naig narrated that she used her endorsement income to acquire the equipment for donation. She also stated that it has been difficult for the delivery personnel to transport the PPE, due to the lockdown.

The actress then extended her gratitude to the brands she is endorsing for their continued support. Naig explained how crucial the extra income is during this time, especially for her employees.

(Because of [the endorsements], even though we are out of work and all our businesses are closed, I can share something with my employees. There are 38 families we need to take care of.)

Aside from donating PPEs, Naig also donated boxes of bread and coffee to health workers in Tagaytay last March. JB
