Android Oreo Update for Xiaomi Mi A1 Suspends Once Again

Chinese tech giant once again suspended the Android Oreo update for Xiaomi Mi A1 due to some bugs reported by users on the MIUI forum. This is the second time Xiaomi halted the Oreo update due to bugs.

To recall, Xaiomi has released the first stable Android Oreo update back in December last month. And soon after the rollout, users start complaining various issues including battery drain, random reboots, freezing of the dialer app, HD SIM notification, and malfunctioning of ambient display notifications and more on the MIUI forum.

Xiaomi has suspended the update for almost two weeks to fix these issues, and commence the update again about a week ago. But now, the company has halted the progress once again.

It is reported that the released updated still having some annoying issues and users are complaining on the MIUI forum. To bring the latest updates at earliest Xiaomi fails to completely resolve the issues of Oreo’s compatibility with Mi A1 before releasing it the second time.

“Mi A1 updates will resume in the next few days as we fix a few bugs from the last update. We are committed to providing the best possible experience on Mi A1 and thank you for your feedback and patience”, said by a moderator.

To recall, the Xiaomi Mi A1 runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat operating system and sports 5.5” full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display protected with Corning Gorilla Glass. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. The Device offers 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.

The biggest highlight of the smartphone is dual rare camera setup with a combination of two 12MP sensors; one is the wide-angle lens with 1.25-Micron Pixel Sensor and f/2.2 aperture, and the other one is a telephoto lens with 1-micron pixel sensor, an f/2.6 aperture. The smartphone supports 2x optical zoom and 10x digital zoom. The smartphone also comes with comes with stereoscopic imaging and deep learning algorithm to deliver impressive portrait shots with depth of field and Bokeh effects.

The Xiaomi Mi A1 is fueled by a 3080mAh battery; connectivity options include dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C port, and 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors on board the Xioami M A1 include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, infrared, magnetometer, and proximity sensor. It comes with dual graphite sheet, which decreases the temperature by 2-degree. On the audio front, it features with 10V smart PA, DHS Audio Calibration Algorithm, and support for high impedance headphones. It measures at 155.4×75.8×7.3mm and weighs 168 grams.
