Last week, Facebook-owned WhatsApp has the launch of the WhatsApp Business app for small businesses. Initially, the app was available only in Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, the UK, and the US. Now WhatsApp has launched the Business app in India as well.

The WhatsApp Business app is now available for free download via Google Play in India. It is compatible with devices running Android 4.0.3 and above. But there are still no words when the app will be available for the iOS but chances are that it will be soon, possibly within weeks.

WhatsApp Business app is the same as the regular WhatsApp application but comes with a handful of specific features. It will allow companies to create their own profile with information like a description of the business, email or store address and website, among other things, similar to creating a page on Facebook. The app also provides smart messaging tools like quick replies for fast answers to FAQs, greeting messages to introduce your business to customers and messages to let them know you’re busy. The app also provides analytics to help you understand which messages are working.

“People will know that they’re talking to a business because you will be listed as a Business Account. Over time, some businesses will have Confirmed Accounts once it’s been confirmed that the account phone number matches the business phone number,” WhatsApp said in a statement.
