I feel insulted, says Vasundhara Raje on Sharad Yadav’s remarks

Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje on Friday says she feels insulted by Loktrantrik Janata Dal leader Sharad Yadav’s remarks, calling her “fat” while campaigning in the State. Taking exception to Mr. Yadav’s remarks, Ms. Raje said the Election Commission should take cognisance of the matter. “Mr. Yadav was always very close to our family… Nothing can be sadder than this. The youth will take cue from this to set an example. Don’t they have women in their families?” Ms. Raje told reporters outside the polling booth.

Mr. Yadav, the former Janata Dal (United) president, had said while campaigning in Alwar that Ms. Raje should take rest as she had got “tired and gained too much weight.” Earlier, she was thin, Mr. Yadav said, adding that she was the “daughter of our Madhya Pradesh.”
