Lets Talk About How Crazy ‘MindHunter’ is!

I came across MindHunter not to long ago and to my surprise it was nothing I had expected it to be.
By the title and having known the fact that the Protagonist was a detective, I somehow assumed the show would be about a detective somewhat like the one from ‘Hannibal’-super helpful completely crazy.

This goes without saying-the show is a psychological thriller. Honestly I think by this point you’d know that’s my jam.

Anyway, the show is one that will leave you thinking. Questioning your sanity and sometimes even sympathising with the criminals with them making you believe that they are the real victims.

Lets start at the beginning now shall we?

The opening, in the opening you’ll experience an uncomfortable situation where there is not only creepy music in the background but subliminal imagery that will make you pretty disturbed by the end of it and the best part is, this is just the tip of the ice-berg. The opening is basically how one judges a show, it takes you into their world. So the transition from an FBI officer’s tape recorder to images of the criminal’s victims is really says something. It’ll make you tense up but at the same time prepare you for whats coming up next.

Now, that i expected was, was a guys playing good cop bad cop out of which one guy, the protagonist of course would be extremely skilled and gifted when it came to criminal psychology. He would know who committed a crime just by looking at the scene of the crime.

I can’t put into words how wrong that assumption was. The storyline dates back to the time when some killers were finally categorised as serial killers for the first time. The protagonist wasn’t some extremely gifted prodigy but just an average psych teacher teaching at Quantico that happened to ask the right questions. At a time when most of The United States of America believed criminals were born crazy or bad he vouched for the fact that there are in fact reasons that make a person do what they do and it could be avoided.

The struggles he and his partner face just because they have a new idea is somehow just so relatable that you can actually put yourself in their shoes and say, damn, they had it rough. It’s hard for people to accept change, something new. And that is what this show represents, an analysis of how the human mind works and how amazingly complex it is!

It’s just one of those things you’ll have to see to understand honestly so make sure this in on top of your ‘to watch’ list. We all have one no point in denying it.
