Mondays Are a Great Start

Do you ever say these words to yourself: 'oh God, it's Monday again!'? If you do, then I'm certain you are talking as an employee. And just in case you are not an employee, and use the phrase, then you simply do not enjoy what you do even as a business person or self employed --but this is hardly.

Mondays are great days to start the work week. Get your Mondays right, get the rest of the week right. Think about it, most business owners and self employed persons work all days in the week: first, it's their business, and secondly it's the source of their earnings. The reason most employees don't like breaking free from the weekends, is because they don't enjoy what they do. They are simply motivated by the money they earn, however miserly that may be.

A lot of employees have this slave mentality to work. For them it's just another way of ensuring survival --especially in the pay. Although there are those who look at work as an escape from their problems --that would be a topic for another day. What we must know however, is that work is progressive.

To work, is to contribute to the development of the human race, and also to develop the inherent capability of man. We cannot escape this task. Nevertheless, we have to discover in what field of work we can thrive. Every human being has an area of specialty where he is called to excel.

If you are scared of Mondays, then you are scared of simply making a difference in whatever field of work you find yourself. It means you have not decided in what area of life you want to make meaningful contribution. Have you ever consider what life would be if we just had everything going for us without any form of contribution from our physical and mental energy? That would be the worst form of redundance and a quick route to hell --even the animals on the lower chain has something to be engaged in.

Work, whatever form it takes, whether physical or mental, are a means of expressing ourselves and adding value to ourselves and our world. So, in setting out to decide what field of work we want to be engaged in, we must first decide if we have an interest in the specified field, and if we are going to be committed once we begin.

If we happen to be currently on a work that we don't enjoy doing, it's better we quit than torture ourselves to an experience we do not enjoy having. This said, the way you start out your Monday would determine the way the rest of the week would go. The weekend offers you a time to rest and reflect on the coming week.

Instead of just doing the routine task your job subjects you to, you could set a goal for something slightly different you would want to achieve in the week ahead. It may be helping a colleague out on a task, going the extra mile on your own job responsibility, or adding new ideas on getting things done in your company or organisation.

So, it's Monday isn't it? Get up and be optimistic for a great week, and things will rightly fall in place.
