Why the Bell Rogue Helmet?

It goes without saying that the market is full of all kinds of half motorcycle helmets. So, most people will definitely wonder why they should buy the Rogue. Well, the answer is simple; spicing up your adventure.

Unlike most half helmets on today’s market, the Rogue is exceptional in every regard. This includes the engineering, features, and additional advanced fixtures, such as the heavy-duty muzzle. Therefore, it is the most important piece of equipment for a modern-day rider.

It is one of the many good helmets available that is actually capable of saving your life as well as transforms your entire personality as a rider. Not to mention that its impact protection abilities against rotational and linear forces are reliable.

This masterpiece will fit your head comfortably and snugly for the ride. Everything about the Bell Rogue interiors is aimed at ensuring that you achieve a perfect fit. So, among the available sizes, one of them must fit you correctly.

In choosing a motorcycle or cruiser helmet, one of the most important considerations is safety ratings. Well, the Bell Rogue is built within the required safety standards. Any helmet that is meant to protect your head ought to conform to the Department of Transportation (DOT) minimum standard.

While there are some competing brands that release half helmets without the minimum standard certification, the Bell Rogue is exactly the opposite. You do not have to be a victim of the so called, “novelty helmets” with the Rogue available at a very competitive price.

With that said, the Bell Rogue offers you excellent ventilation; a feature that is seen in most half helmets. Even with the muzzle on, the Rogue is what you need when riding in areas where the temperatures are skyrocketing.

Convenience is what you get with the Bell Rogue, because you do not have to remove the helmet every time you want to use your mouth. You can simply choose to remove the muzzle. Now let’s go through the features that make this helmet so unique in the following Bell Rogue helmet review.

Product Review

At first glance, the Bell Rogue is a revolutionary new open face helmet. It is made up of the best of what we have seen in the Bell’s half helmet series, and integrated with a good-looking iterative brilliant design and flavor.

There is actually no other way to describe this great work in open helmet series than a complete success. If you look at it from an application point of view, it offers you the much needed airflow in hot weather and better protection than traditional open face helmets.

A feature unique to the Rogue is the extendable and removable muzzle that is located right at the chin spot. There are four colors available, including matte black, ghost recon Camo, solid matter black, and army green.

The Design and Functionality of the Bell Rogue

For starters, the Bell Rogue displays the comfort of a fully removable liner, but the way it touches as well as interfaces with you is quite unique. This is a half / open face helmet design that is completely different from what you are used to on the market.

It is a different shape that Bell decided to introduce, which does look amazing on a cruiser or motorcyclist. The design and functionality of this monster of an open face helmet, suits any city or naked bike rider.

The composite shell is high performing

The Bell Rogue helmet comprises of a lightweight and high performing composite shell.  The development of composite shell materials and manufacturing technologies has been employed greatly by Bell in the engineering of the Rogue helmet.

The lightweight advanced composite shell offers high-impact and blast-level protection. Bell combined proprietary quick-cycle molding and integrally tough and highly reinforced materials to produce the heavy-duty helmet.

The helmet shell is exceptionally lightweight than most shell designs and materials. The advanced composite is a fast growing field of advanced material that will impress you in so many ways than one.

The main advantage of the Bell Rogue composite shell is that the stiffness qualities have been fine-tuned for crash impacts expected during riding. The shell is more efficient at distributing the impact energy forces than polycarbonate shells.

User-friendly Bell Rogue helmet liner

The incorporated liner is fully removable and washable. It is also antimicrobial and antibacterial for maximum comfort during use. The liner comprises of exclusive weave technology that is very effective at wicking moisture.

This offers quick cooling of the head during long distance rides under the hot sun. The antibacterial, antimicrobial, and excellent cooling properties command a competitive edge, which certainly unlock high performance.

The liner gets rid of the heat as well as stickiness from sweat on your head. It allows you to maintain your desired hair style as it absorbs sweat during use. Generally, this resourceful piece of the Rogue’s helmet improves the performance of the Bell Rogue.

What about the padding?

The Bell Rogue helmet is fitted with high-quality padding that is very comfortable. The helmet padding is useful in a number of ways. First, it offers the much needed comfort during use by ensuring that the helmet fits comfortably and snugly, regardless of the shape of your head.

Secondly, it cushions impact blows to your head, because the kinetic energy of your head is used to deform the padding. As a result, the impact energy is spread over the inside of the helmet, which is much larger than the typical collision point. You should know that the padding is thicker, and plays a big role in the fitting of the helmet.

The face muzzle features outstanding Fidlock Magnetic Connection

The most resourceful feature about the Bell Rogue helmet is the muzzle. The engineering of the muzzle is based on a technology referred to as the Fidlock Magnetic Connection, which is truly an easy way of making the muzzle adjustable.

The Fidlock Magnetic Connection ensures that the muzzle is non-removable once connected. There is a magnetic hinge on either side that connects the points. There is a self-adjusting ratchet towards the back of the Fidlock system that you can pull.

The self-adjusting ratchet allows you to regulate the position of the muzzle by just pulling it outwards or towards the face. It is a convenient feature, because you can choose to pull the muzzle away from your face to create more breathing room.

The ingeniousness of the muzzle does not end there. Detaching and reattaching of the muzzle to the Fidlock Magnetic System is easy and effortless. You just have to slide the muzzle upwards to release it from the magnetic hinge.

When you do it for the first time after purchasing the helmet, you will realize how easy the entire muzzle removal process is for convenience. To reattach the muzzle, you just have to pop it back into the hinges. So, it is a kind of self-finding at the point the muzzle connects to the Fidlock.

Comfortable and convenient mouth guard design

The muzzle and the breath guard are well-integrated for maximum performance. Bell ensured that the combination is aggressive. It comprises of adequate airflow vents on the front for ventilation. Therefore, there will be no accumulation of hot air from your breath.

Bell’s originality as far as the Rogue helmet is concerned is also seen with the removable 3D foam breath guard. The breath box is a very resourceful feature for winter riding or racing in the cold weather.

The foam is fleece-lined to offer technically advanced insulation and enhance performance during cold weather use. This helps to block the wind from directly hitting your face, and also saves you the trouble of wearing a bandana.

The breath box is also very useful in summer when you want to ride under the hot sun during your track adventures. All you have to do is remove the fleece-lined foam from the breath guard. The box will still be comfortable to wear.

This is so, since it comprises of comforting micro-fleece material embedded on the inside. This is a very important feature, if you will choose to wear the muzzle close to your face, because your nose and chin will be in direct contact with the breath guard.

Can I wear it with goggles or sunglasses?

From a rider’s point of view, the Bell Rogue helmet is a very versatile headgear. You can choose to wear the helmet with riding goggles. The strapping of the goggles will fit perfectly because of the design of the helmet at the front.

Alternatively, you can opt to wear the helmet with a pair of sunglasses. This is possible because the helmet has enough room on the sides for accommodating the sunspecs. The cheek pads towards the top of the ears are accommodating for a pair of sunglasses.

The Ergonomics of the Bell Rogue Helmet

It comes with an injection-molded TPR that is situated on the front of the muzzle. The helmet features a shroud (a line that suspends the harness from the shell of the helmet), which is part of the injection-molded material that connects to the helmet with a patented material.

On the inside, you have the EPS at the top, which extends slightly below the helmet for a few inches. This forms a resourceful back head protection. The protruding EPS at the back of the helmet offers additional support and protection to your head.

The helmet strapping mechanism is incorporated with double D-ring construction, which consists of the same microfiber seen from most Bell’s helmets. The D-ring connection will not come off easily. It is also very reliable and does effectively facilitate adjustment to acquire a perfect fit.

As you rotate the helmet to access the bottom, you will realize that the shroud comes all the way around to the front side. The shroud is flawlessly integrated into the EPS to ensure that it does not come off.

The interiors are versatile and convenient. You can easily pull out the cheek pads that are integrated with speaker pockets for music and communication. You can actually install Bluetooth devices inside the speaker cutouts.

The neck roll comes all the way down, and there is a removable part of the neck roll at the back of the helmet. The back neck roll offers comfortable connectivity around the backside of your head when the helmet is on.

The Wrap Up

Although, the Bell Rogue is not a true full-face helmet, it is still a purpose built cruiser and motorcycle headgear that will guard your head against external elements while on the track. This is a half, open face helmet that offers you the coziness of a ¾ helmet.

We have extensively demonstrated in this Bell Rogue helmet review how resourceful and versatile the helmet is for the money. It is the DOT rated half helmet that will offer you the comfort you need during summer as well as winter.
