The Maruti Suzuki’s domestic sales figure in February was 137,900 units as compared to 120,599 units sold in February 2017. This amounts to a healthy 13.3% growth. On the export front too, the sales growth has been higher by 24.9% exporting 11,924 units as against 9,545 units exported during the same month in the previous year.

All the above Maruti Suzuki cars and SUVs performed better in sales as compared to the rest of the portfolio.

The passenger car sales growth registered by Tata Motors is though highest in the percentage terms but in absolute terms it sold only 17,771 units in February 2018 as against 12,272 units during the same period in the previous year.

The newly launched new-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift has been able to capture a booking of whopping 65,000 units in about a month’s period. The all-new Swift is available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol variant of Swift carries a starting price tag of Rs. 4.99 lakh while the top end model is priced at Rs. 6.96 lakh. The diesel variants of the car are priced Rs. 1 lakh more than the corresponding petrol variants. Readers are aware that for the first time, Maruti Suzuki is offering the new hatchback car in AMT and diesel variants options. The car also shares the HEARTECT platform with Dzire and which makes it more robust.
