India Autoz was among the first to cover about Bajaj Auto‘s newly launched NS200 ABS model. Now it seems Bajaj will be coming up with a fuel injection version of its streetfighter motorcycle. The new 2017 Bajaj Pulsar NS200 ABS carries a price tag of Rs 1.08 Lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). So it is quite likely that the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 FI (fuel injection model) would cost approximately around Rs 1.15 lakh. That said, in spite of the higher premium, one simply can not deny the advantages of having a fuel-injected engine. It should be noted  that this motorcycle is based on the 200NS which was launched way back in 2012 and but was later discontinued to make room for the Pulsar AS200. It seems now that, the NS200 looks all set to get the same FI engine that powers the RS200, but in a slightly lower state of tune.

The new Bajaj Pulsar NS200 FI could be launched anytime in the coming few months. We expect a January 2018 launch date.  This means the launch is just on the cards and not too far away.

Bajaj Pulsar NS200 FI Price

Bajaj recently launched the ABS model of this NS 200. The  ABS version of the NS 200 costs Rs 1,08,000 (ex-showroom, New Delhi). We feel that the fuel injection will take the price further up to Rs 1,15,000. The premium over the price is quite well justified as the FI engine is sure to improve both the performance as well as the fuel mileage of the motorcycle. Therefore,  it will be easy for the new bike to justify the premium in price.

Bajaj Pulsar NS200 FI Specifications

The Bajaj Pulsar NS200 FI will get it’s power from the same  4-stroke, 199.5 cc, SOHC, 4 valve, liquid cooled, single cylinder engine that powers the non- fuel injection  model. That said, introduction of the fuel injection will surely lead to increase in fuel mileage and refinement.

The Pulsar NS 200 boasts of conventional front forks at the front and a gas-charged Nitrox monoshock suspension setup at the rear of the bike. The  bike has stylish 17-inch mag wheels that come shod with a 100-section front tire. It comes with a 130-section rear tire. Braking duties handled by disc brakes, both at the front and rear. The front disc brake comprises of a  280 mm rotor with a twin-calliper arrangement. Whereas the rear gets a 230 mm disc with a single-calliper setup. The ABS model fof the 2017 NS 200 is the same unit that is also available on its full fairing sibling, i.e  the Pulsar RS200. Even the fuel injection system will be derived from the RS200.

Bajaj Pulsar NS200 FI Mileage

With the addition of an FI unit,  the Pulsar NS200 FI should be slightly more fuel efficient. We feel that the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 will have a claimed mileage of 55 km/l.

The first Pulsar to have got a fuel injection is the discontinued Pulsar 220 FI, which was once upon a time BAL’s flagship model. That said, at that time Bajaj couldn’t do a very good job at tuning the system. This  led to customers facing niggling issues which caused the ultimate demise of the model. However, now with the technological advancements that Bajaj has made in the recent times, the introduction of a FI system in the NS200 should make the prospective customers get attracted to the bike.

The NS 200 FI will likely be able to reach a  top speed of 140 KMPH. Quite obviously, the speedo will probably indicate a top speed higher than 150 KMPH. However in reality, the new motorcycle will  reach a top speed of 140 KMPH. For a bike in this segment, this is a pretty respectable figure..

The current NS 200 can reach 100 kmph from 0 kmph in just 9.65 seconds. The Fuel injection model will be even quickerr. This is pretty well respected figure for a bike in this segment

The new FI model of the Pulsar NS 200 will look more or less the same as the ABS variant. Also the current 2017 Pulsar doesn’t look too much different from the 200 NS which was launched way back in 2012. In its latest avtar,  the bike looks more stylish due to the dual-paint colour schemes as well as the stylish graphics. The NS 200 has always managed to impress people with its beefy design and a considerably bold exterior. The aesthetics seem to have taken inspiration from the very much admired and instantly recognizable Honda CB1000R. We really think that the NS 200 FI looks pretty awesome.

Several styling bits like the   racebike-inspired tail cutter, engine cowl, stylish mag wheels, dual-tone paint schemes, LED taillamps as well as the stylish graphics make the bike look more stunning. The new 2017 Bajaj Pulsar NS200 is definitely among one of the best looking motorcycles in its segment.
