NYSC Senate List For 2022: Nysc Senate Which is also known as the NYSC Mobilization List. It is a list of graduates approved by the Senate of Corps Producing Institutions (CPIs) to take part in the one year mandatory National Youth Service Corps Program.

Anyone whose name is not found on the Senate list will not be eligible to register for NYSC program. Prospective Corps members (PCMs) should ensure that their names are on the Senate academic list of their various institution for NYSC mobilization.

2. NYSC does not decide whose name will be on the Senate list, rather your institution is responsible for the senate list, while NYSC displays submitted names on their portal for viewing. So, your institution prepare and send the Senate list to NYSC for upload.

How To Check NYSC Senate Approved List

1.   Go to the NYSC Senate / Academic Board list portal at https://portal.nysc.org.ng/nysc2/VerifySenateLists.aspx.

2.   Select your Institution.

3.   Supply your Matriculation Number and Surname in the required columns.

4.   Select your date of birth.

5.   Finally, click the ‘SEARCH’ button to access your mobilization status.

WHY DO I SEE “NO RECORD FOUND” WHEN I CHECK MY NAME ON THE NYSC SENATE LIST?

First of all one has to be sure that NYSC has started to upload its senate list before panicking when this type of notification is seen because institutions can start releasing their senate list but NYSC has not started to upload these list to the portal hence, when you try to check or verify your name you will see no record of your details.

More so when NYSC officially starts to upload names on the senate list, the issue of NO RECORD FOUND  is mainly as a result of your school not submitting the hardcopy senate list to NYSC, once such is done the notification of the NO RECORD will disappear.

In other words to stop seeing such, one’s institution must ensure that they submit the hardcopy of their senate list to NYSC Headquarters in Abuja. Be aware that NYSC has not started uploading names for 2022 Batch C PCMs so if you check at the moment you are likely to see nothing.

Why Your Name May Not Appear On the NYSC Senate List

These are the 4 major factors that determine if your name will or will not appear on the NYSC Senate list:

1. Jamb Regularization,

2. Jamb Matriculation List,

3. Pre-mobilization,

4. Incorrect Data.

Now, below are the factors that influences the senate list:

JAMB Regularization

Graduates who do not get their admissions directly from JAMB, need to do JAMB Regularization. If you have done JAMB Regularization, you also need to validate it from the JAMB data base. If not your name will not appear on the NYSC Senate List. Those mostly affected are: Polytechnic graduates, Pre-Science, premilaries, direct entry etc.

In short term, if you do not have JAMB admission letter, just know that you are affected.

JAMB Matriculation

This is very important, there is no way your name will appear on the JAMB Matriculation list. To overcome this problem, Check if your name is on the JAMB matriculation list; if it’s not, then go to the JAMB website to print out your JAMB admission letter and submit it to the admission officer in your school.

Pre-Mobilization

If you do not sign-up for NYSC at the Students’ Affair Unit in your school, then it is possible that your name will not appear on the NYSC Senate List.

Some institutions, automatically pre-mobilized its graduates for NYSC, while many Institutions do it manually. So, find out from your school if you need to sign-up for NYSC mobilization before it is too late.

Incorrect Data:

Your Institution may make mistake while entering your name on the NYSC Senate List, therefore it is important you verify your name on the senate list with your institution before they start uploading it online.

Schools

Yes, your school need to upload the senate list, and then take the hard copy of the uploaded list to the NYSC headquarters in Abuja for verification. Unless your school do that, your name will not show on the Senate List. In this case, contact your school.

What is NYSC graduation list?

The NYSC graduation list is the list of graduates who are eligible to take part in National service. All the Corps Producing Institutions (CPIs) across Nigeria are mandated to submit their graduation list to NYSC for documentation.

Differences between graduation list and senate list

Below are the main differences between NYSC graduation list and Senate list;

·        NYSC graduation list contains the names of all graduates, while NYSC Senate list contains only the names of candidates eligible for service.

·        Graduation list shows registered or yet to register status of graduates, while senate list status tells you if you are qualify to register.

·        Senate list serves as ‘licence’ to NYSC online registration, while Graduation list serves as ‘hope’ for NYSC registration.
