Warning: this book is not for the weak hearted. Read at your own risk.

I actually have been wanting to talk about this Book for awhile now–well more than awhile– I just haven't feel like there someone in my friends group that is as fucked up as I am, so I eventually decided that I will just talk about it here.

So anyways, first off this is not your normal love Story, this is a story about, well you can say Stockholm Syndrome, but that's a way too broad of a generalization for this series I feel like, and it is not exactly a love story either. Then what exactly is it? Honestly, I don't even fucking know. This book–well, series– is just a whole series of feels after feels after feels and I can't, for the life of me, put it down. And it's not even a good kind of feels either, literally the more you read, the more confused you become.

Firstly, let me break it down to you what this is all about :

"Caleb is a man with a singular interest in revenge. Kidnapped as a young boy and sold into slavery by a power-hungry mobster, he has thought of nothing but vengeance. For twelve years he has immersed himself in the world of pleasure slaves searching for the one man he holds ultimately responsible. Finally, the architect of his suffering has emerged with a new identity, but not a new nature. If Caleb is to get close enough to strike, he must become the very thing he abhors and kidnap a beautiful girl to train her to be all that he once was.

Eighteen-year-old Olivia Ruiz has just woken up in a strange place. Blindfolded and bound, there is only a calm male voice to welcome her. His name is Caleb, though he demands to be called Master. Olivia is young, beautiful, naïve and willful to a fault. She has a dark sensuality that cannot be hidden or denied, though she tries to accomplish both. Although she is frightened by the strong, sadistic, and arrogant man who holds her prisoner, what keeps Olivia awake in the dark is her unwelcome attraction to him.

Right off the bat, just by reading the synopsis of the book, I was like

And once I started reading, my reactions go from:

It is a jumble of emotions from anger, to shaping them so hard you want to cry, to despair, this book is all sorts of fucked-up ness and I LOVED IT TO NO END. The range of emotion this book makes you feel are downright insane because there are times where I feel like ripping out all my hair because Caleb is being such an asshole and I just. UGH.

This book was perfectly written, it is captivating from start to finish. I can promise you that there is never a moment while reading this book where you go bored. Like Livvie you'll never know what to expect. This book is honestly just a rollercoaster of emotions and if you can keep and open mind, I would really recommend you to read it because it really will be a story you will never forget. This is that kind of book, the kind that stays with you forever. You might love if or you might hate it, but I promise you this book will make some kind of impact.

“This isn't a romance. You're not a damsel in distress and I'm not the handsome prince come to save you.”  – Captive in the Dark
