Highlights of IPL auction 2018 day 1!

The mega grandiose cricket extravaganza, the Indian Premier League (IPL) auctions have become the centre of the world of cricket. This year’s Ipl Auctions are extravagant with a total of 578 players in the fray, with 200 foreign players up for grabs by IPL teams.

The IPL auctions are ongoing and they are likely to leave the entire spectrum of tastes to 578 players who are up for grab – sweet, bitter, sour, salty, spicy and just plain no-taste. While the fans will want to have the best players in their teams, it isn’t that simple and it is pretty competitive to get hands on good players. Some of the biggest cricket players of world goes under hammer in the two day long gala where money will be poured like water by teams to buy off the best they can. Among all players, there are 16 prominent players with starting base price of Rs 2 Crore – including – Ben Stokes, Ashwin, Shikhar Dhawan, Mitchell Starc, Chris Gayle, and Dwayne Bravo to name a few.

However, all eyes were turned when Afghan player Rashid Khan took with him a bumper cheque worth Rs 9 Crore from Sunrise Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore bought back Yuzvendra Chahal at Rs 6 Crore. U19 player Prithvi Shaw was bided up for Rs 1.2 crore by Delhi Daredevils – a major kick-start for the youngster. England bad boy Ben Stokes fetched the biggest price at IPL for the second state year with Rs 12.5 Crore by Rajasthan Royals and three Australian players landed in the highest paid six players in IPL auction 2018. There were the most prominent bids made today, among a spree of others including Indian and foreign bowlers, batsmen, all-rounders and everyone.

The first day of huge IPL auctions 2018 ended with Ben Stokes being the costliest bid so far by Rajasthan Royals – letting him earn Rs 6.35 crore more than what he would in regular Aussie tournaments. Surprisingly, there were no buyers for the No 1 ranked bowler and New Zealand leg spinner Ish Sodhi; also, West Indian Samuel Badree and Australia’s Adam Zampa went home unsold on day 1. However, tomorrow will be day two and the bids will start at 9:30 in the morning with a fresh start.
