Lamborghini Urus, The $2,00,000 Super SUV

The hot-demand of SUV cars has made all automobile companies to jump on board, not leaving even Lamborghini behind. While it is true that Lambo once used to make Hummer-esque SUV and even tractors, but the newly revealed SUV is one-of-its-kind attempt for the company. Unveiled on Monday at Lamborghini headquarters in Sant’Agata, Italy – the Lamborghini Urus SUV is said to be a car that elevates the SUV segment to a level not previously possible, the Super SUV. Yep, they had to add the Lambo touch while not missing out with the lucrative SUV market, hence Urus.

Urus has been unveiled and is officially in production, but will be launched in 2019 – with an expectation to sell thousands of those Urus SUVs, for which a new purpose-built factory has been developed. The why not, after all the Urus comes with pretty amazing specs. A 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 produces 650 horsepower, and perhaps more importantly 626 lb. ft. of torque between 2250-4500 rpm, which will make Urus tractable off-road, and a strong sprinter on-road. With its roaring engine, Urus can hit 60 mph in less than 3.6 seconds, and 124 (200 kph) in 12.8 seconds that can boom-up to the top speed of 189mph – amazing right!

The car also comes with six driving modes: STRADA, TERRA (off-road), NEVE (snow), SABBIA (sand), SPORT and CORSA, plus EGO to individually tailor response rates of suspension and drivetrain. So here’s the core what makes the car a ‘super SUV’ – it comes with eight-speed gearbox with aggressively low gearing that aids both sprinting and low-speed off roads. Unsurprisingly, the design of Urus leans towards those expensive Lambo sports coupes: the Gallardo and Aventador; but this one can seat four people! And hence there is an extra seat in the back and an extra pair of rear doors, some useful trunk space and headroom for the rear seaters, unlike typical Lambos. Priced at an estimated $200,000 in the US, this one is one hell of a beast, not missing out beauty, because, well it is a Lamborghini after all.
