The best WordPress Plugin to convert your posts into rich snippets

Welcome back to yet another article about SEO. In case you have read my earlier posts about website SEO, I am pretty sure they must have helped you achieve better rankings in the search engine rank pages or SERP’s as they tend to call them.

This article is intended to make you all aware about one pretty crucial aspect of SEO which is not as easy to implement as compared to the rest of the SEO techniques we have discussed so far.

Rich Snippets are something which a lot of webmasters tend to ignore while fighting in this Game of SEO thrones as they consider them to be too technical a thing. They are, in a way, pretty right as well.

What are Rich Snippets?

Snippets, simply put, are the small details which are available under any URL of a page which provide the viewers with the basic knowledge as to what the content of the post is going to be.

I’ll take the example of one of my own articles here (I was going to use a search result anyway, why not promote my own work right?)

If you search the keyword Logitech slim combo specifications, you would come across something like this:

If you pay attention towards the content which is just under the title of the URL, you would find  stufflistings.com › TECHNOLOGY › ACCESSORIES  which is nothing but the snippet for the respective post.

Now, if you pay some more attention, you would see those orange stars as well as a text telling that it is a review done by some person. This gives you a pretty clear idea as to what this post is all about, that is, a review of an iPad accessory. This is what’s called a Rich Snippet.

As a matter of fact, there is a complete article about Rich Snippets made by Jill Kocher. You might want to check that as well if you want to learn more about them.

Rich Snippets for SEO

I am pretty sure that you must have come across rich snippets more than once in your browsing life. You must have even clicked on them as well. The reason being, you get to know what’s there in it for you by just looking at them. So will be the case for any potential visitor right?

Rich Snippets are utterly crucial for your search rankings and, invariably, for your SEO as they would directly result in your content getting higher rankings and an amazing visibility in the SERP. Google prioritizes Rich Cards over any other normal content and provided your content is otherwise optimized properly, it stands way better a chance to rank high and receive a much higher CTR as well.

I won’t emphasize more on the importance Rich Snippets play in SEO and would close this thing with Neil Patel’s lines.
