Victoria's Secret Has Been Accused Of Racism Yet Again

The brand continues its lengthy tradition

Victoria's Secret has been criticised for racism again, after its models were recorded singing along to Cardi B's Kodak Yellow and repeating lyrics featuring a racist term.

The video shows a number of the models backstage in which they use the racial slur, singing: "I don't wanna choose and I'm quick to cut a n***** off."

The line has seemingly been deleted from Karlie Kloss' version of the singalong on YouTube. Social media users have pointed out that there are no black people in the room, so the word should not have been used.

If you’re not black, don’t say the N word. Point. Blank. Period.

So who said it ?

Victoria's Secret has been accused of racism and cultural re-appropriation on numerous occasions. In this year's show, it was criticised for featuring native American headdresses in its 'Nomadic Adventures' segment - something it was attacked for back in 2012 after Karlie Kloss wore a similar style. The brand apologised but doesn't appear to have learnt from its error. In 2016, the show was slammed for its re-appropriation of Chinese and Mexican traditional attire. Back in 2012, it was heavily criticised for sending two black models down the catwalk in tribal gear.
