Here I am again with another review for matte liquid lipstick and this time the brand is The Body Shop. (liquid matte lip launched last year)
I grab every lipstick that claims to be matte and long lasting. I do not like wearing glossy and sticky lipsticks as they do not stay long and I don't feel comfortable with the glossy finish.
The Body Shop products never betrayed me and I love most of their skin care products. I wanted a dark burgundy kind of shade, best for winters so I picked up the darkest shade of the range.

My Take on The Body Shop Matte Liquid Lip in shade Sicily Iris 019
Packaging
It comes in a simple tube with a brush applicator just like any other liquid lipstick. The brush is slanted which helps to shape lips and apply lipstick easily. Nothing so fancy about the packaging, but the tube is travel-friendly and leak-proof.
Texture and Formula
The Body Shop liquid matte lipstick is mousse-like in texture. It feels extremely velvety and soft on lips. The texture feels very similar to Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream. The lipstick doesn't feel heavy on lips. The 100% vegetarian formula makes it great for people who don't eat or like non-veg.
Shade
I bought shade Sicily Iris 019 which is a deep burgundy shade with plum undertones. The shade is perfect for winters and suits fair to medium skin tone.
** The lipstick is extremely comfortable on lips and doesn't make lips dry or chapped. It takes time to dry to give a completely matte look because of the soft mousy texture. The shade I bought is a bit patchy and you need to work with it to get a uniform look. I have figured out my way of applying it after using it 2-3 times.
I take a very little amount of The Body Shop liquid lipstick on the brush and then apply it to my lips and layer it with another application to get uniform colored lips.
Staying Power
It stays on my lips for 4-5 hours, but if I take a heavy meal in between then I have to retouch it. And it is not transfer-proof. It does transfer to your coffee mug but not all of it. As The Body Shop liquid matte lipstick has extremely velvety texture, it doesn't make lips crack.
