Pre and Post Holi Beauty Hacks

Hey Lovelies 💖

Welcome to my beauty blog!!

As we all know Holi is a festival of colours and fun, but the harmful chemicals in Holi gulal can be bad for our skin and hair. Three years ago, I had faced a severe skin problem issue because of Holi colours. It caused me full face breakouts and redness which didn't go after months. I wish no one has to go through such bad experience and here I have come up with pre and post holi hacks to protect your skin and hair from damage.

Before Holi

Prep your skin for Holi

- Make sure you follow CTM regularly. Holi colours can make your skin dry. Moisturise your skin well and keep it well hydrated to avoid making your skin, even more dry.

- Do not undergo a facial treatment just before Holi. The treatment will not last long so better to save your money for a skin spa after holi.

- The night before Holi, apply a homemade moisturising mask for your skin by mixing mashed banana and honey. It will help to lock the moisture in during sleep.

- Prep your skin half an hour before you step into the heaps of colours. Apply a mixture of baby oil + coconut oil to the bare skin. Don't forget to apply inside and outside of your ears.

- Apply a double amount of waterproof sunscreen lotion to the exposed parts of your body.

- Wear comfortable clothes and try to wear full-length clothes covering most of your body.

- Slather on lip balm or simply vaseline to prevent your lips from damage.

- For eyes, get your old UV protected sunglasses to prevent your eyes from colour.

- Paint your nails with dark nail polish to avoid getting them stained with holi colours.

For Hair

- Make sure you oil them properly half an hour before the Holi fun. This will make sure that your hair stay moisturised and damage free.

- If you don't want to apply oil, then tie a bandana to your hair covering most of your hair. It will look cool as well as protect your hair from damage.

After Holi

Soon after you are done playing Holi, you would like to wash it all off. To remove the stain on your skin and hair here are some tips which will help you after Holi.

- Do not wash off your colour with plain water in between your play. Once you finish playing, follow these steps.

- Take a lemon, cut in half and pour few drops of coconut or almond oil to it. Gently rub the lemon to your stained skin for at least 5-10 minutes. It will help to remove all the stains without causing damage to skin.

- Similarly, take half a lemon and rub onto your scalp.

- Wash off using lukewarm water and use mild soap and shampoo.

- Once you are out of shower, slather on nourishing body lotion and face moisturiser. Apply a good amount of hair serum to your hair.

- After 2-3 days, you can book your appointment for facial treatment to maintain your skin glow.

Don't be afraid to play Holi with your friends and family. You are 100% Holi ready. Just follow these simple steps to avoid getting skin and hair damage. If you find this article helpful, please share your experience in the comment section below.
