Spring is finally trying to emerge, and Stila have arrived with their massively on trend new makeup launch: Bohemian Beauty. Bring on the Stila!
Hat’s off to Stila, they do their research well! Fashion trends for this spring/summer are easy styles, we see boho, whimsical, floaty movements, gemstone inspirations such as rose quartz, everything is made to feel fresh again, so why not match our make-up to it?
Gone are the winter cake up covers, it’s time to exude our natural beauty, and give it a splash of colour and radiance.
First, up in the collection, Stila announced a change of texture from their infamous Glitter and Glow style range, now in the form of Shimmer and Glow. This smaller pearl particle, over 40% water infused formulation applies just as amazing as their Glitter and glow; of course sans glitter. The cooling sensation of the liquid is a literal dream sensation and the finished results are simply divine. With options to go full on beaming shimmer, simple blotting for a dash of glow or even buffing it out into a gorgeously perfect holiday easy smoky eye – This product will indeed change your life.
Holiday hack! Double this bottle up as your travel eyeshadow and highlight, simply lightly blot on with a damp beauty sponge and you’re good to glow!
Already available in iconic shades such as kitten there’s already 11 to choose from. 3 are limited edition from the bohemian collection itself, inspired by Missoni – so snatch up shades ‘Carefree’, A lush, summer-ready salmon coral. ‘Freedom’ the festival ready turquoise shade, and ‘Boheme’ the light shimmer lilac, when you can!
Also new to this season were the Smudge kajal liners. These eyeliners were PACKED with pigment, they went on smoothly and stayed soft enough upon the eyes to smudge out, even in the waterline! The key to their extra blend-ability is the lack of being waterproof. That being said, don’t think you’ll be looking all Alice Cooper come pollen season, these guys are hardy and pretty much stay put – it’s a win-win.
Retractable, complete with ‘smudger’ tool on the end AND a sharpener that enables you to get that point back in the tip, this pencil is indeed, again a game-changer. Available in 4 shades: ‘Intense black’, ‘Nude’ – I adored this one! ‘Sapphire’ – a black-based blue and ‘espresso’ a warm brown.
And of course, where would a launch be without some lip service? Hello? Thank you Stila, you came, you saw, you lip contoured. The lipstick range launch was a nice hefty one, introducing two new textures to their already iconic matte line-up.
First up we have some glitz and glam for their new shimmer lip collection. Boasting a 6 shade range, with some iconic faves, including Beso – which was previewed in their Christmas collection, The range was to die for. I especially loved how they weren’t entirely metallic in finish, they showcase a beautifully fine pearl-like appearance to them, ideal for special events. FYI I need shade Lume in my life. Like right now.
Followed up with another new texture; more suited to the vibe of ‘Bohemian beauty’, were the sheer lip collection. Again boasting a 6 shade range with familiar faces included, these were perfect for an everyday lip. The wear is gorgeous and dries down to a demi-matte so you can retain that natural little bit of shine and a kick of colour.
They also have a sparkly looking Gliteratti top coat collection in this range, but unfortunately, we didn’t get to see these! They do however look utterly stunningggg-uh!
And with another 6 matte lips added to their extensive collection, it’s perfectly ok to say that this is one heck-of-a-launch! The liquid lips are all pigmented nicely, sit on the lip comfortably thanks to the avocado oil. Again, they don’t last as long as I’d hope on the lips but, they’re absolutely stunning regardless. Again Lume, you will be mine…
