Slummy mummy on a shoestring review – WIKANIKO Moringa Oil

Hi beauts!!

I’m back with a Skin care review this time!

Now I know usually I err more to the cosmetic side when it comes to reviews, but you know we have to have a good foundation in place first before slapping make up on right? So when it comes to skin care we have to get it right for us. And for me personally my skin confuses the heck out of me.

As a teen I barely suffered any issues (I may be repeating myself here) of course I endured the odd pimple here and there due to wonderful teenage hormones! But as a whole I never endured many issues until my 20’s kicked in – which then brought the onslaught of a dry T zone, an oily chin and a nose that looked like it had blackheads but didn’t? no just me?

Oh yes and of course reddening on the cheeks!  My saviour for most of all this of course has been my Delight Touch skin cream – I won’t have a bad word said about the organic troubled skin cream! ever! but I have noticed in the harsh winds I’ve had some sneaky dry patches coming in and hell, if I’m ever ill – theres a 100% chance I’ll get dry patches for the next day or so until I recover from whatever lurgy the kids have dragged in (or even more so the husband).

That’s where this wonder oil stepped in.  Now personally I can’t say I’ve ever heard of Moringa Oil – I actually doubt I pronounce it correctly too oopsy!) Anyway, courtesy of Denise from wikaniko I was able to trial out this fabby dabby dozey liquid.  So just to quote from Wikaniko’s webpage on the benefits of Moringa Oil:

Benefits

  • Moringa oil rejuvenates dull, tired and aging skin.
  • Moringa oil antioxidants and nutrients help fight free radical damage that can cause skin tissue damage and lead to the formation of wrinkles.
  • Moringa oil helps improve the appearance of wrinkles and prevents sagging of facial muscles.
  • Moringa oil helps promote cell growth and delay damage and destruction of skin tissues.
  • Vitamin C stabilizes collagen
  • Moringa oil has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties and has been used to treat and heal minor skin abrasions; minor cuts and scrapes, bruises, burns, insect bites, rashes, and sunburn and skin infections.
  • Moringa oil is great on babies and children too
  • Moringa oil helps clear blackheads and pimples. When used regularly helps prevent the reoccurrence of blemishes.
  • Helps minimize dark spots from acne and hyperpigmentation.

Moringa oil has nourishing and emollient properties giving it benefits for use in skin and hair care products. Moringa oil is useful in lifting dirt out of the hair and is an efficient natural cleanser. By simply wetting the hair, massaging the oil into the scalp and rinsing can effectively clean and moisturize the scalp.

Also known as ‘Ben oil’ this oil has so many things going for it – I was actually shocked!  Upon first inspection the oil was actually nice and lightweight.  It wasn’t necessarily greasy  like most oils are or sticky for that matter.  It was comfortable,  It also had this ‘peppery’ smell to it which wasn’t intimidating or off putting, but it smelt natural if that makes sense?  Basically it had a none offensive smell but there was a smell present and it was not artificial which since going to organic skincare I appreciate a lot more!

So I mostly applied my Moringa oil to my face…and calves! – Denise mentioned in an email someone had reviewed and found it had helped stop itching of the legs and naturally I was intrigued.  My calves have always been dry, and as someone who shaves every other day (seriously im the female wolverine, my legs have 5 o’ clock shadows in more like 5 minutes after shaving) and I can find myself mostly in my sleep scratching away and waking up to scratched legs, sometimes I have actually drawn blood!

But did it help?  It actually DID! – whilst it didn’t fully curb my urge to itch, it calmed it down heap loads.  I also found it took away scratch marks I had created rather quickly and overall my legs have improved in condition too, feeling less dry and more silky with each use.  RESULT!

Next stop -face!  Now I have a few crinklies under my eyes forming…come on man im 31 haha! and prayed that this would remove them from my face.  Now whilst so far (It’s been a week!) it hasn’t turned up at my door with a baseball bat and knocked them off my face for a full home run – my skin?  Guys…Seriously  my skin feels flapping amazing.  The best way I can describe it is my face feels like velvet.  VELVET – it feels wonderful, even with a full face of make up I can run my hand over and not feel any vile texture, it’s beautiful and I’m shocked an oil could do that to my face!

MY FACE FEELS SO GOOD I CAN’T STOP TOUCHING IT AND I SHOULDN’T TOUCH IT REPEATEDLY – Damn even the husband was astounded!

and the best part is, I have only been applying this before bed – not twice a day, just ONCE a day! 2-3 pumps is more than sufficient to cover my face and I awake in the morning with a nice smooth face and then apply my Delight Touch on the morning!

100ml of Moringa Oil costs £16.95 (prices correct as of 11/03/2017) and my bottle is still pretty full after a week (using 9 pumps a night to cover both legs and face nightly) so this bad boy is going to go a long way – I would Totallywholeheartidly recommend it! and guess what? Madam Mim here has a discount code for you to save some smackeroonies on this baby!!

I’m really impressed with this tube of…GOLD – I’ve yet to try it on my hair but I’m pretty sure I’ll end up doing it soon with, no doubt good results! I’ll be sure to post it on my social media channels when I do, so make sure to follow me on the links below to keep up to speed with my daft goings on!
