Slummy Mummy on a shoestring review – Naturelle Cosmetics ‘Royal coffee scrub’ in ‘Coconut’

Hi beauts!

It’s time for another revieweroonie!!! (yes I made that word up) – anywho! today I’ll be looking at a body scrub from Naturelle Cosmetics

So the wonderful peeps over at Naturelle Cosmetics sent me a bag of their ‘Royal Coffee Scrub’ in ‘Coconut’ to try.  My first impressions were pretty much ‘HOW BIG IS THIS BAG?!’ It’s huge! (200g to be precise) and packaged in a very sturdy thick envelope ‘jiffy bag’ style envelope with an added nice feature of a ziploc along the top to keep the product fresh…and of course stop you knocking it about the place!

Royal Coffee Scrub Coconut

The Skin is the largest organ in our body. It absorbs about 60% to 80% of what it comes into contact with. When you use commercial cosmetic products, perfumes, lotions, scrubs and oil, all the ingredients in those products get absorbed right into your blood stream. The ingredients in such products can be toxic to your skin and even in some instances known to attribute allergies, birth defects, and cancer.

The good news is, you don’t have to use such toxic products when you want to scrub your skin. Royal coffee scrub coconut is an all-natural product for skin scrubbing. If you would love to know more about the amazing benefits, its ingredients have to the skin then read on.

I could not get over the amounts of benefits thrown into this product.  I’ll admit, I rarely use body scrubs – when being gifted body care at Christmas I more than likely throw scrubs in the bin, this is purely because I hate the plasticky beads used and sensation of them on my fingers.  Oh and the fact that I can be quite lazy too!  But the idea of caffeine shifting lumpy bumpys on my very very lumpy bumpy body? I wanted to see what it could do for me.

So after a very impressive first impression I set to using this badboy at the end of my bath.

This stuff smells AMAZING – I don’t kid, it’s STUNNING! I actually wished it was drinkable because im sure if it were it would be soooooo nice! (and I don’t even like coffee!) it’s not pungent at all and you can smell a wonderful mix of coffee and coconut which isn’t ‘knock your socks off in your face’ aaaaaaand no, it won’t leave you smelling like that teacher who lived off instant coffee every 5 minutes that you detested…(yes I had one of those)

I will admit, as I expected I didn’t get on with the sensation on my hands at first. But it wasn’t as rough as the horrid plastic bead filled scrubs (which I refuse to use!) to use – after a little while I managed to adapt my hands in a way that could deal with the texture and it wasn’t all that bad going! Also a little really does go a long way! And because it’s natural I used it on my face too – avoiding my eyes and mouth – I scrubbed gently and found really really nice results on my face, shifting any extra flaky skin I suffer away.  BE GONE FLAKY FLOOS!

Body wise, it left my skin smelling amazing (the husband adored the smell that lingered) it also left my skin feeling super moisturized from the oils contained in the product and my skin felt super smooth to the touch – I have seen a little improvement on my cellulite but there are so many other contributing factors to consider here that I cant rely on a scrub to banish it from my wobblies! (I’m overweight/plus size and I don’t hydrate myself well enough…oops) but it’s brought some colour back into my skin which can usually look quite grey on places like my upper arms and calves which is super impressive…and did I mention that I feel like a baby’s butt all over?!

At £9.95 for 200g I’m impressed – I’ve used this product around 5 times now all over my body – face included and I’m not even 1/4 through the bag yet! and it smells so so so so so goooooooood!
