Just another- “I am tired with this society” post

So, when I was a kid- if you have been keeping up with this blog for a while now you would know that I was a total tomboy. I wasn’t really into playing with girls my age, I would rather climb trees or cycle or play in the mud. I remember this one incident when I was playing with a boy my age and just for fun, I threw mud in his hair. Was pretty fearless back then. My grandmom at that time yelled at me saying ” what kind of girl are you?”  So random stories aside, I have always heard this phrase throughout, maybe because I was not the obedient girl like they expected me to be, maybe because I did what I felt was right and not because “I was supposed to do it because I am a girl”. BLEH, I say.  It has always struck me as odd because if boys are allowed to pass snide comments at us, we too then should be free to react to the situation in our own way- mine being violence and getting everyone’s attention to the fact that ‘Hey people we have a man-whore amongst us”  Pretty smooth.  I don’t understand the Mentality of men these days actually. Often if you travel in public transport and you struggle to stand against all the crowd, I find there are 3 types of men-

  1. They offer you a seat
  2. They don’t offer you a seat but continue to stare at you like your body is on display
  3. They take advantage of the crowd and push/prod/ touch (you get the idea)

What I don’t understand is- how hard it is to Avert your eyes or avert your prying hands off a lady’s body. I am 21 and it was pretty easy for me to avert my gaze and Touch from any man for the past 21 years- then why can’t they? I mean, there has to be some kind of defect in their mentality?  LOL, I should be stating that and not be asking anyone. SO rephrasing it again- There is some defect in their mentality.  As I spend all my free time Pinterest(I’m pretty sure there’s something wrong with me :P) I have gone through so many posts on rape culture tolerance in schools, in colleges and how they deal with it. Two words so far- Lame effort. They tell women to dress “appropriately” so men don’t get “distracted”. Read that again. See!! I told you there was a defect in our mentalities! and then we say- “Wear what you want to wear and Be who want to be” Like seriously? Is it even “safe” and yes we talk about safety in the 21st century where man has supposed to be “evolved”  There shouldn’t be so many posts on that topic end of story!

Enough said I guess, the only thing we keep doing is saying and stating how these people should be punished. When are we gonna take a stand and do something about them? The best way that works for me is embarrassing such guys in public. Let everyone know who these people are. It works for me always. Once the guy jumped out of a running bus because I demanded that he be made to get off rather than just “Change his seat” as suggested by the conductor. No boy I wouldn’t settle for that. Resulting him jumping off because I screamed so bad and he got scared. This is what we have come to be in 2017. Great. Good going world.
