Modern Scandinavian

Hi, everyone hope your having a wonderful time this weekend. Today the post is based around how to design a modern Scandinavian design. To start it off there is two types of Scandinavian designs and the one we will be focusing on is the modern one.

All designs that are modern focus on the clean lines that are in the room and so do this design. Your design has to have understand the use of light as it is in fact a huge fact in having a modern design is that your room is light and airy. The only way you are reall y going to have a light and airy room is by using light. A modern scandinavian design also focus on the craftsmanship that goes into the designs and work such as if you have a wooden chair they would want the wood chair to be made from a high quality craftsmen. And the design has to be elegant.

In the design you should really have Natural Materials such as wood because most of the Scandinavian design I have seen have a lot of natural materials in them. The modern Scandinavian design has a lack of ornament being shown as they want the room to be minimal and have nothing really on show.

The colours pallette in a modern Scandinavian design is the more earthy muted tones such as the light brown, white, bakck and greys. In a typically modern Scandinavian design you will see that all the walls have been painted in a white with maybe added colour in the furniture or accessories which could be blue or grey. The flooring in a typical modern Scandinavian design is wooden however the flooring in the bathroom would be tiled.

As I’ve probably said a lot of the furniture would be made out of wood whether it would be painted to match the surrounding or reclaimed to add the essence of rustic. Which ever way the wood is brought into your design, wood will work well in a Scandinavian designed room. Below is some amazing photos to help you picture what a modern Scandinavian design looks like.

Hope you have enjoyed reading,

A beautiful open planned living, dining and kitchen. The whole room is pulled together thanks to the wood.

A stunning dining room using accents of black in the accessories of the room. By allowing the black accessories the whole design comes together as one.

An amazing modern and sleek kitchen. Adding the wooden cabinets to one side of the kitchen really makes me feel like this room is a modern Scandinavian design.
